1960 Porsche 356B T-5 For Sale Buy This Classic 1960 Porsche 356B Restoration Project. Numbers matching doors, hood and engine lid. Originally Black. This is a 1960 Porsche 356B T-5 restoration project for sale. As most of you know, Porsche 356s have proven to be amazing investments over the years, with values skyrocketing especially in just the past few years. Not only are these classic first generation Porsches great investments, they are incredibly fun to own and drive. The classic "bath tub" Porsches are always welcome and admired at any classic car event. And with only about 80,000 made through all years of production, the opportunity to own one of these beautifully designed sports cars does not come around often. Values should continue to rise as time passes since the last Porsche 356 was produced way back in 1965. This is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door into the exciting World of the Porsche 356. This is a very desirable car in that it was originally black and most likely had a red interior. We haven't applied for a COA (certificate of Authenticity) and given the wait time, we will leave that exciting birth certificate inquiry for the next owner. But the dash looks to be still in original paint, and the underside of the hood and engine lid are also black and look to be in original paint. This car was purchased from a used car lot in North Dakota with no engine perhaps 30 or more years ago. It remained with that owner until 2008 when it was sold again to a Gentleman here in Minnesota. It appears the car sat outside during all of these years, and parts were sold off the car periodically. Amazingly, the current owner was one of the collectors who bought parts off of this car! And while I was doing this photo shoot we realized that one of the sets of doors owned by the seller actually belong to this car! So, it goes without saying that the doors are back with the car. The car also includes the original hood and engine lid. (Original mileage is unknown.) This will be an amazing car when it is restored. But it goes without saying that this is a major project. It comes with all the parts pictured in the photo galleries below including the front bumper, steering wheel, two of the three gauges (that are smashed unfortunately), both original doors, the original engine lid and hood, and three Porsche wheels dated 1/60, 1/60/ 10/59 (the other wheel looks to be Volkswagen), and the transaxle. The header bows are still in the headliner but that about "completes" the interior. Most of the repair metal is available through Pelican Parts, and I have personally ordered and welded in replacement panels from them and they are of high quality and make for an impressive restoration.
