Vehicle Detail
Let me start by stating that this motorcycle has NO TITLE, and the mileage is unknown, as is normal with older dirt-bikes. eBay's system made me input information for both of those and there is no option for 'no title', or 'mileage unknown'. This auction is for a 2003 XR80r motorcycle. My plan is to part this bike out on eBay, but I figured I would see if someone wants it complete before I tear it down. My son who rode this bike is turning 16 and looking for car money, so his old bike is getting sold. There are two issues with this bike. The first is that it has now sat for two years. The carburetor will need to be cleaned. I drained the old gas and put fresh gas in it, and it fired right up, so it is in running condition. It is also is jetted for about 9,000 feet, so it may need a new main jet depending on where you are. The other problem is the front end. The boys thought they were doing a good thing when they traded someone the original front end for a front end with disk brakes. By the time they came to me to ask me to install the new front end for them, the joker that traded them was long gone with their original parts. The front wheel is now a 19" (original was 14" I believe), and changed the angle of the forks so the steering feels awkward. The front brakes do not work; my conclusion is the master cylinder is bad. The forks work, and compress without a problem, but are bent. My belief is that the triple tree, forks, front wheel, and all attached parts came from a Chinese bike. The bike does ride/run and drive fine as it is, but the above noted problems need attention for the bike to be capable of normal use. The items in this auction are sold "AS IS" with no implied warranty of any kind (other than within eBay's accurate description policies). Now, for the good. The handle bars and brush guards are the ones we originally had on there and are good. The rest of the bike is in exceptional condition for it's age. The engine and transmission are real strong. Fires right up on the first kick (even with a dirty carburetor). We have owned the bike for about five years. I change the oil every 10 hours of riding. The engine oil is super clean. The transmission shifts through all gears smoothly and is easy to find neutral. The chain and sprockets are in good condition. The rear wheel and tire are in good condition. The wheel is straight and not bent at all. The tire is a Dunlop Geomax MX51 100/90 14 with a heavy duty tube and Slime. The tread is probably 85% left. The exhaust is a BBR pipe and spark arrestor. We also have the original exhaust, plus an extra air filter, which is included in this auction. All the plastic is intact with no cracks or breaks of any kind; just scratches from normal use. The fuel tank, pet cock, cap, etc. are all in good condition. The seat is in good condition with no rips. The frame is in good condition, as are all electric components. Basically, the forks, front brakes and triple tree are no good. Everything else is in good condition, with the exception of the carburetor needing service. The bike has always been stored in the garage. Here are two youtube videos of the bike. One is of me starting it last week with new gas in it and riding it down the street and back. The other is about 50 close-up pictures of the bike that I took that same day. https://youtu.be/JBKSZye1xs8 https://youtu.be/meVUloJJg1U This auction is for seven days. If it doesn't sell in that time frame, I'll strip it down for parts. If you are interested in specific parts from this bike, shoot me a message and I'll send you a link for that auction when I get it posted. I have this bike listed as 'no shipping, local pick-up only', but I don't mind if you hire a shipper to come pick it up from me. Just contact me immediately after I receive full payment via Paypal and let me know what your plans are for pick-up. I am about 20 miles northeast of Denver, in the 80601 zipcode. The pictures included in the auction are ACTUAL PICTURES of the item described. Please look at them closely, as they are part of the description. I urge you to look at my feedback. My items are always better than I have described them, I ship them right away, and I have no problem with returning an item you are unhappy with. I try to describe each item as accurately as possible and list them in the proper categories. If you ever have a question about a specific item, please contact me using the 'Contact Seller’ feature, and I will answer your question as soon as I can. Items are mailed the next business day, following the receipt of payment. Most of my auctions include free shipping. Only very heavy, or awkward, items are auctioned with the buyer paying for the shipping; and with few exceptions, the selling price is discounted to help you with the shipping cost. Items with free shipping are sent via USPS Economy. Items with shipping paid by the buyer are shipped using the best method available to get the item to you a.s.a.p. (usually USPS Priority Mail). If you need an item Expedited, please contact me immediately after payment is made so we can make arrangements for another shipping method. I never charge for handling charges, only the actual cost of shipping. I offer combined shipping, if it is feasible, but please understand that some items cannot be combined due to packing logistics. If you do not see a part you are looking for listed in my store, please contact me via the ‘Contact Seller’ feature and I will see if I have it. My 1st priority is customer satisfaction. If there is ever a dispute, please contact me right away so we can come to a resolution. I have a return policy extended to any item which I have not described properly in the original auction description. The return time allowance is 14 days from the end of the auction (7 days to allow for shipping and receipt, and 7 days for you to confirm the item is what you paid for). Return packing and shipping will be provided by buyer. Item must be returned in original and complete condition as originally shipped by seller. I do offer local pick-up for all items (Denver Metro area). Contact me immediately after your purchase and I will work with you for a pick-up time. Happy Bidding!
