Vehicle Detail
1987 PORSCHE 944 TURBO Car is white with a Burgundy interior, she will make a good daily driver or a good project to turn into a show car. This car is very fast and sits down nicely in the turns. You’ll be speeding in 3rd gear if your not careful and she has two more. I’ve had the car about 6 years but do to work its spent most of its time under a car cover in storage. Its time to let someone give her the attention she deserves. The 944 Turbo was designed to be a track car, it has power brakes, rack and pinion steering, and a suspension that will take a turn hard. TITLE ISSUE I have a clear Texas title that does not show any accidents, but if you look at the car fax, sometime in the early 90s the car had a accident and was issued a rebuilt title. The title that came with it didn’t say rebuilt and neither does mine but it is in the history. I could tell that the front right fender has been replaced previously, but I have no idea what other damage there was. This is the reason I am selling so low, a clear titled, no accident 944 turbo can bring over 10 grand. The good Car runs great and drives great and I think I would drive it anywhere.Suspension is hard, this car was designed for racing so it’s a bumpy ride, You’ll be able to count the rocks on the road. I recently drove it to Houston and Austin with no issues, about a 400 mile and 100 mile round trip. Im using it as a daily driver right now.All the original gauges work, battery charges good and the oil pressure is goodPrevious owner did some upgrades. It was reported to me that it has a T-14 turbo instead of the factory, but honestly I cant tell. I believe he updated the suspension and fuel system with aftermarket components, but again, Im not familiar enough with Porsche equipment to tell what's original and what's upgraded.Has the original spare in the back. All the glass is good, no tint.Sunroof works, replaced the gears that wear out about a year ago.As far as I can tell there is no rust on this car, but its hard to see underneath. The bad Air conditioner does not work, I believe it is missing the reservoir for it. The controls in the dash do work including the temperature sensorsDash has typical cracksThe paint looks good from about 5 feet,The front seats are showing their age and are splitting at the seams. They will need to be covered soon, or just use the seat covers if it’s a daily driver. The steering wheel is pretty worn and needs to be covered or replaced to look good, but it works just fine. The previous owner added two gauges to the lower center console. He added an Air/fuel ratio gauge, but it does not work. There is also an aftermarket vacuum/turbo gauge which does work. The turbo is supposed to be adjustable now, there is a pressure switch on the center dash, but I cant tell if its working or not. She boosts about 10-12 pounds depending on how hard I get on it. The air bag compartment on the passenger side has a tear at the top, I don’t know if it deployed in the past (when it had the accident), or if there is even one in it, so assume no air bags to be on the safe side. The drivers side is there, but I don’t think its hooked up. I do not have the security lockout key, one came with the car, but it does not seem to fit. Im sure one could be made, or you could just buy a set on ebay, not too pricey.Original Floor mats are there, but they are shot, carpet underneath is good though. Ive tried to be as accurate as can be with the description. The car is fun to drive, but it is an unrestored 30 year old car with 138000 miles on it so their will of course be some wear and tear. If your expecting a brand new car, you should look else where. The car comes as is with no warranty. If you have any questions please ask. If you are in the area and would like to see the car, feel free to message me and we can set up a date.
