Vehicle Detail
I have decided to sell my 1957 Chevrolet 210 2-door sedan. 283 cu in V-8 runs great and is backed by 3 speed manual with floor shift. This is a great fun car and is a blast to drive. Restored years ago and recently gotten out of storage. Car is New York State inspected which means everything including lights, horn, signals, emergency brake, and wipers all work. Clutch works as it should and 3 speed syncromesh transmission shifts as it should. Underside including floors, frame, trunk and supports are all solid. Many things were brought up to date this year including new Coker whitewall tires, new brakes, complete tune-up including cap, rotor, plugs, wires etc. New mufflers on the dual exhaust. Hoses and belts were updated also. Painted in original colors of tropical turquoise and india ivory. Paint is an older repaint and has some touch-ups but shows well and looks good at shows and cruise nights. Chrome is good, some newer, some original. Interior has a rip in the front drivers seat area and one small on the rear of the back seat. headliner has a rip that has been stitched up and needs tucking in around sides. Neat extras include a headlight finder on the dash and a neon bordered rear license plate holder. The bad stuff: the left rear window needs a little help with your hand going up, the turn signals do not cancel by themselves and the steering wheel after being restored is about 45 deg off level when driving straight, Heater core is in the trunk with spare parts, tune-up kit and manuals. The '57 shows 58020 miles on a working speedometer. I was told this was accurate but I have no way of confirming this. Car rides down the road at legal speeds with no shimmy or shake. Starts and runs great. If you have been in the market for a driving tri-five Chevy at a reasonable price than you know this one is downright cheap. It has the right engine, the right amount of doors and one of the most sought after color combinations. I planned on working this winter to bring it back to perfect but my doctor says surgery is in the near future and I won't be working on anything. Delivery and pick-up in entirely up to the buyer. Car must be picked up within one week of auctions end. If more time is needed please ask before you bid. I do have a transportation company near me with reasonable prices. He can get the car to you as far away as Oklahoma City or Florida for less than $1000. $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hrs of auctions end and balance in cash or bank cashiers check. ( Please ask questions before you bid as I want you to be happy with your purchase and I value my feedback.) The Chevy draws a crowd where ever you go. Good Luck. TH I have been asked a bunch of questions on the 57 so will attempt to answer some of them. 1. is the running gear original to the car? I don't know. I looked up where to find the code numbers but the engine block has been painted and numbers are illegible. It's a 283 and came with a standard transmission is all I know. 2. Do all the gauges work? Yes, There are a set of vintage Stewart Warner gauges under the dash but only the amp gauge is hooked up. Oil pressure is still the dash light which works also. I never checked the clock, I would assume it does not work. Shocks? These were replaced before I got the car but I do not know when. Underside? As stated above the underside is rust-free and solid. It is even painted original black. Per request I have added photos of the underside. The Chevy also has a new Die-hard battery and an AM-FM Cassette player in the dash and rear speakers. All in all a really nice car but not perfect. Yes, if you can get here before the auctions end we will take a ride, car is licensed, insured and NY State inspected.
