This auction is for a 1986 Volkswagen Westfalia Fully Loaded Camper No Reserve.I restore vw's (www.baycountrymotors.com) and bought this one for my personal collection.I purchased the camper recently from the original owner. I had planned on restoring the vehicle for myself but recently was offered a great deal on a 87 syncro westfalia and well, I can't keep both as its the van or my wife. I restore vw's and bought this one personally because it was in such great original condition. The van has power mirrors,front and rear a/c, power steering and a full camper interior with sink, stove, refrigerator and two double beds. The original owner was a photographer for national geographic and used the van over the years to travel for work. The van is completely original with 103k original miles. The engine was recently serviced and runs, drives, shifts and stops well, I would suggest a through inspection before a major road trip. Brakes are working and no leaking fluids under the vehicle. Overall the body is in great shape, It does have a few dings and dents , most noticeably the right rear corner is dented a bit. Some light seam rust around the van notably in the drivers rocker and left quarter lower seam. For an east coast vehicle it is very rust free. The interior is in very great condition. Cabinets show no wear, rear carpet looks new, pop top has no tears or stains, upper mattress looks perfect, lower mattress has light wear and a small hole in one cushion,headliner looks untouched. Curtains are all stain free and are intact. Front seats have no holes or major stains. The dash does have some light cracking on top from the sun but a dash cover would cure that. Door panels look decent with slight bowing, but again for the age very good shape. Original vw design radio works and sounds good.
