Here is a very rare 83 Ford Ranger with the factory 2.2 Diesel engine that gets up to 40 mpg. My son and I have owned, drove and worked on this truck for several years. Engine and drive-train in very good condition and i would NOT be afraid to drive anywhere or any distance. YES, I do believe this could be driven by new owner after purchase on the return home trip. The body is a bit rough with some dents and scratches all over BUT very minimal rust because this truck spent most of its life on a farm and was NOT driven much on the salted highways (exceptionally low rust for its age). The interior is rough but fully functional with a couple pads on drivers seat area.. We have rebuilt the entire front end and brakes including ball joints, tie rods and new master cylinder. I changed glow plugs about 2 years ago and it has a working electric "cold weather" warm up heater to plug in during cold winter days. It is currently located in Terre Haute, Indiana at my sons place but I plan to bring up to my place in Kenosha, Wisconsin. NOTICE: The clutch did NOT get changed as planned. The current clutch is fully functional and truck runs and drives fine. I just wanted the new clutch installed to help sell. I will offer the new clutch installation as an option for buyer or an equivalent discount. The new heavy duty clutch kit that I purchased is included - it is just the installation that did NOT happen (approx. $300 to $400 labor). The fuel filter is not the original, it is a clear plastic 10 micron from NAPA and you can visually see if it is needing changed (i always keep a spare in glovebox).
