2000 Honda Insight 5 Speed MT. 89,400 miles. I decided to have the car repainted due to some fading of paint on the hood and top of car. Wanted this car to be one of the best available. It will be difficult to find a better citrus in the country. No accidents ever. Clean Carfax. No expense spared. Lifetime miles per gallon: 55.2MPG The Citrus colored Insight is the rarest of all the Insight colors since it was only produced in the year 2000. It is the rarest and most sought after color. 5 Speed Transmission works perfectly as it should for a car with these low miles. No noises and no grinding of gears during downshifts. NONE. IMA battery is STRONG. Freshly charged and discharged and charged this battery should last a long time. Grid charger and harness included as all of these cars should be grid charged frequently. Nothing but the best for this car. The grid charger/discharger is from hybridautomotive.com and I believe is appx $400 without the installation charge. Of course the harness is installed and you should grid charge all insights on an as needed basis (appx every 2-4 weeks). Interior- above average. I removed the seats and door panels, washed and cleaned the seat covers and door panels thoroughly outside the car and reinstalled. The carpets were freshly shampooed. The photos of the seats did not turn out well in the pics. Almost look dirty. They are beautiful and are NOT dirty. Exterior- excellent.. Freshly painted. No dings/dents/chips in the paint. Very very nice. I own a lot of these cars and the exterior is in excellent condition and has to be one of the nicest citrus colored insights in the nation. I had the car professionally waxed and buffed and detailed. Underneath- above average. All underneath body panels intact and even the body panels were cleaned and polished (my friends thought I was nuts doing this). Engine compartment-above average. Had this professionally detailed. Mechanics-above average. No check engine lights, tranny purrs as it should for low miles, motor fires right up and sounds great. Should last easily for another 200,000 mi. Oil and Filter - just changed. Ready to go. This car goes into lean burn easy and I frequently get more than 70+ MPG when I want to. Normally, I'm in a rush, and get 60-65 MPG. This car is great for fuel economy. A friend of mine in Las Vegas just recently achieved over 100 MPG on a tank of gas (10 gal tank 1000+ mi). In temperatures of 95-100+ degrees he would drive with the windows up, no a/c of course and get huge mpg. But he's a little nuts...and so am I. Just shows you what can be achieved with these cars. Great cars if you drive a lot or if you are just frugal. I'm neither. I just like the look of the car and want to be as gas independent as I can without getting too nuts. Car also goes into auto-stop easily which is where the engine shuts off when idling and starts instantaneously when you step on the gas. This helps your mpg greatly and some Insights don't lean burn easily or go into auto-stop. You guys buying these cars with bad tranny's and IMA's will be faced with possible repairs of $4k or more. This car is done. Tranny purrs. Strong IMA. Engine has ZERO leaks. Get in, drive and give me a positive feedback. Money was no issue in making this the best that it can be. No corners cut. Gas tank-on full of course. No issues. PERIOD. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this car. I'm appx 20 miles NW of Indianapolis, IN and you can fly in to IND (Indianapolis, IN airport) and I'll meet you at the airport and you can drive home. Anywhere including Timbucktoo. This car is ready to go. I am not a dealer but a retired enthusiast that has a ton of these cars that I enjoy working on. I'm not going to sell a car and then have you give me a negative for whatever reason as I have many more to go. But as of now just this one for sale. No sight seers of "InsightWorld" as I'm too busy enjoying what I do. Here to sell a great car for a great price. Where else can you get a car that can go 70 MPG's and has NO problems with a great battery and tranny with a grid charger and low miles and a rare color for under $8k? I am selling this "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied. With that said if there is a problem, let me know about it. I have thousands of positive comments and NEVER had a positive comment and not going to start now. I want both of us happy. Located 20 mi NW of Indianapolis, IN. You will be very happy with this car. All I ask is you complete this transaction on a timely basis (one week). and if you don't buy this one, try to find a nicer citrus in the country with low mi for $8k. I'm taking appx a $5000 loss on this car but I make money with my investments, not on Insights. This hobby has been an absolute joy that I wouldn't trade for anything. Clear title on hand.
