Vehicle Detail
This vehicle has been in our family since it was purchased in 1989. Initially, it was used for driving back and forth between MI and FL up until 1999, when it had 90k on it. From 1999 to 2005, it was used to transfer DJ equipment, racking up another 12k in mileage. From 2005 to present, it has been used on a few family camping trips and the occasional trip to pick up items that wouldn't fit in a car trunk.Van was ordered with optional 351CI (5.8L) V8 plus trailer package for transmission (3.55 gear ratio). Van was also customized as conversion van with sport top, which allows increased headroom when walking around inside cabin, which has customized interior. Front and Second row seats are rotating/reclining captain's chairs. Folding bench seat mounts in the rear of cabin and can be set upright for seating or folded flat to form bed or storage area. Folding bench was removed and stored, since 1999, along with seat belts that attach. It has been placed back in van, but not re-installed. Engine fires up with ether. So, both primary and secondary ignition is not problem. Disconnected fuel line just before fuel filter and a trickle of fuel comes when starter engaged. So, problem is fuel supply related and, most likely low pressure fuel pump in rear tank. It is also possible that there is some sort of blockage in fuel line or problem with fuel tank selector. Brakes and transmission in excellent condition. Rear tires in very good condition. Front tires still ok, but should be replaced with newer tires. Known issues include: Engine cranks, but will not start and run. (suspect low pressure fuel pump, but not certain of this). Replaced fuel filter, fuel pump relays, OK)Oil leaking from engine valve covers (valve cover gaskets should be replaced for mid to long term).Air conditioner needs recharge (Haven't used air conditioning since I purchased van from my parents in 1999) Do not know its condition.Rust areas in front of both rear wheel areas and near bottom of running board. Surface rust on hood. DS rocker has some rust.Radio works fine. Cassette unit works but has tape stuck in it.Both turn signals work, but signal switch on steering column only locks in one direction. One side cargo door lock needs to be freed up.Left Rear Door Glass spider-cracked during last heatwave. Glass is still in place, but needs to be replaced. (Easiest and least expensive glass to replace)E-Brake cable needs to be replaced. (Main brakes were completely overhauled, rotors, pads & calipers in 2006 at 100683 Mileage)Van was equipped with an additional mid-ship gas tank to increase cruising distance without having to stop for gasoline. Fuel pump does not work on mid-ship tank.Main (rear) gas tank: New gas tank, fuel pump and sending unit installed in 2007 with 102k mileage. (Less than 3000 miles since then)With a little work, this van can be restored quite nicely for touring, general use or as a utility vehicle. Engine and transmission combination were designed for towing a trailer or boat. Perfect project for the right buyer.Vehicle is being sold "AS IS" Buyer must pick up or make arrangements for shipping/towing. On Oct-10-15 at 16:49:46 PDT, seller added the following information: During time period van was used to transfer cargo (1999-2005), rear seat was removed and a tarp wrapped sheet of plywood was placed on floor, so as not to wear out or damage carpet in cargo section.
