Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is Betty, our beautiful 1952 Buick Roadmaster. This is a rare model of Roadmaster, featuring the 4 portholes that depicted Buick's top of the line models. If you want a car that stops people in their tracks, this is the one for you. People literally stop what they are doing to cross streets and parking lots to come look at her, she is that eye-catching!! Originally an Arizona car, Betty was relocated to Washington state two years ago. (She has been stored inside a dry, heated shop.) We have had a lot of fun with her and truly hate to have her go, but it's time for a new home and her next enthusiastic owners. Betty is in very good shape for her years. There are the dings and dents expected of a car of this age, but nothing major. The paint was redone to a maroon from the original green color. (On a 1952 Buick body paint color chart, the color looks to be close to Apache Red.) The paint is in very good shape, with a few rubs where the hood meets the body, but nothing that seriously detracts from her look. The interior is a beige plush cloth with maroon trim and an olive green carpet. The chrome is in fairly good shape, with small dings and scrapes to again.be expected from her age. She has 4" white wall tires with the very cool Sombrero hubcaps. Tires are fairly new with less than 3000 miles on them; spare is brand new. The interior is in excellent shape, with a very cool dashboard featuring lots of chrome knobs and trim. All lights work, heater works, windshield wipers and electric windows work, although wipers work on a vacuum so can be very slow. Radio and clock do NOT work at this time. (the red on the radio antenna is a red Christmas bow that was there when we first got her) We were asked a lot of questions about body condition, rust, etc. The body is very straight, with no signs of being wrecked or tweaked. She was painted before we bought her, so we don't know of any body damage, or see signs of any. We have not had her up on a lift so don't know for sure if there is rust in the floorboards, etc. She is an Arizona car so we don't think there is much if any. The front floorboards feel a little soft, but nothing major for a 63 year old car. The driver's side floor board could use a 10 x 10 patch panel about 4" in front of the seat mount somewhere in her future, but again, it's nothing major at this time. The trim is in decent shape---there are small dings and dents and the bumperettes need to be repaired or replaced. The trim on the lower passenger side door and side is currently being held on by small screws. Not glaringly ugly or super noticeable, but not correct. The bumpers do have some scrapes on corners where someone got just a little too close in a turn, but nothing seriously caved in. She starts right up, and runs and drives straight and true down the road. We drove her up here to Washington state from Arizona in January and she did great!! On a scale of 1-10, we'd say she's a 7 or 8. We've had a lot of fun with her, and we know there is still a lot of fun left to be had. She is just a beautiful and fun car to take to car shows, shows beautifully, and with a little work and investment could be a very valuable old girl. We feel our reserve price is very reasonable for this classic old car! So if you want a VERY cool cruiser or a car show car that attracts a LOT of attention, Betty will do that for you. It really is amazing how much attention she gets and how many people will come to look at her, comment on her and tell stories of how "so & so had one of these when I was a kid." Lots of fun to have people tell those stories and enjoy seeing her so much.... Betty is sold as is, where is. She is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end auction early if she sells here. Buyer is responsible for transportation/all shipping costs. If you have any questions, please email. We check email several times a day. We do have additional pictures available that we will be glad to email to you. Concrete is located about a three hour drive north of Seattle/SeaTac airport (SEA). We are an hour and a half drive from the Bellingham, WA airport (BLI). We will be glad to meet you and show her locally. Thank you for looking, and good luck with your bidding. On Sep-06-15 at 10:30:51 PDT, seller added the following information: If you would like more pictures of the car, engine compartment, trunk, dash board, etc., please email. We have some we will be glad to send. Any questions, please write. We check email several times throughout the day. Thanks for your time and interest!
