2004 TOYOTA COROLLA CE FOR SALE BY ORIGINAL OWNER Just got this back from our youngest before he moved to a distant city and with only two drivers now living at home we don't need three cars. THE GOOD: Purchased new in 2003, comes with all service records. Engine and drive train in good condition - used steadily up until a week or so ago with no drivability issues. Battery is good, engine doesn't smoke, interior pretty nice - front seats were covered from day one! Engine was tuned up within the last year or so. THE BAD: Was in a minor accident about ten years ago - clipped on rear passenger side bumper from the side. Was repaired at Toyota dealership (new bumper) and again at an insurance shop when I complained about the trunk fit. It wasn't a bad accident and the area looks good now with no damage apparent. That said, it has developed a rattling sound from the rear which is possibly related to the accident. I took it to my local guy who told me it was the brakes, but I had new brakes put on all four wheels within the last year or so and the noise is still there. Sounds kind of funky and feels like something might be loose, but again, it doesn't seem to affect drivability. THE UGLY: Someone in the neighborhood backed into the front passenger side fender and pushed it in a little (without letting me know!) - it's not the worst dent in the world but now it's starting to rust and could probably use some attention. The hubcaps are long gone (check out Corollas and you'll see this is endemic to the model) and the tires will probably need changing sooner than later. The A/C conked out a year ago making summer driving a bit unpleasent. Generally speaking it's an 11 year old car that has been used by two college kids for the last 6 or 7 years so don't expect it to look showroom clean (but with a little elbow grease and some automotive cleaning products, who knows?)
