Vehicle Detail
1966 Pontiac GTO, a real 242 car. This GTO is an original Marina Turquoise car with matching interior, one of the colors that was stunning in 1966. The body on the car is in excellent condition with just a few very minor chips and flaws, the paint is 14 years old, and looks great. This car is not a trailer queen, but, shows well and has won various local shows. The interior of the car appears to be original, and has no rips or tears. Options include: Automatic transmission, Power steering, Power brakes, AM radio (with FM converter), Mirror group, Lamp group, Custom seat belts, Rally cluster, (gauges, tachometer), Five Rally 1 wheels with red line tires, Saf-T-Track differential, reverb, console. The engine is a 1966 389, all matching numbers with the exception of the block. The block was damaged in the 1970's when the timing chain broke, it was taken to the Pontiac dealer, and replaced with a period correct, dated, 1966 numbers block, with the only difference is the black is stamped WT instead of YS. All other components, including the heads and exhaust manifolds, are number correct. The factory two speed transmission and factory 3:23 traction lock rear end are intact. In 2006 new brakes, brake lines, wheel cylinders, exhaust and mufflers, ball joints, fuel pump and 4 core radiator was installed. A correct, numbers matching, 1966, tri-pwer has been added, I have the factory installed intake manifold, 4 bbl carburetor, and air cleaner that is included with the car. The underside and floors of the car is all factory, and excellent. Please look at all the photos to see the condition of the car. You can see the inside of the engine when I installed the tri-power carburetion last year, it is spotless, and runs perfect. All gauges, (except the tachometer), electric, lights, etc, function as they should. Also included in the sale are: Complete PHS history with window sticker and order form. I also have the Protect O Plate, Owner Protection Plan Manual, Owners Manual, and Accessory Manual. Included is a complete list of the ownership of this car, including a photo of the original owner with the car. Also, included with the sale is a car cover and a factory, 1966 AM-FM radio, the FM band is not working. You are bidding on the vehicle in the photos, in as is condition, with no warranty implied.
