We had to spend 9 months doing something, we chose to do this build. I sponsored the project which began in 2009 after my mom passed away from cancer in 2008. This was a very challenging project, took about 1000 hrs of labor and research, and I am only willing to let it go to a true car enthusiast that will appreciates the passion and care put into this build. The reason for selling is to help build a local church and pay off debt. Please call me at 360-901-6895 with any questions. ExteriorThe body is very straight and has absolutely no dents or scratches. Fresh crystal blue metallic paint. Custom hood and front lip. Aftermarket halo projector headlights. Tinted windows. Sun roof. Custom exhaust systems, two stock quiet mufflers rotated 90 degrees and added new chrome slanted exhaust tips. The car is sleeper quiet. Custom side air scoops formed from sheet metal and welded into the sides of the car. Metal ducting caries the intake air into the rear engine compartment and exits through the trunk lidvent. The rear engine is cooled with a half size double row aluminum racing radiator and sits in the rear engine compartment behind the passenger seat. All lights work as required for road use. InteriorThe interior remains very original. All power functions and switches work. The car has cold AC, hot heater, defrost,power steering, stock CD radio player. The gauges in the cluster still show info for the front engine while the dash mounted tachometer shows info for the rear engine such as coolant temperature, ATF temperature, and ATF pressure. The rear engine bay is completely separated from the cab with a metal removable panel and one quick release "hood" panel. The panels are heat insulated and carpeted. A custom fuel cell was built with a capacity of 14 gallons and installed in the truck compartment. Two fuel pumps installed, one per engine. Each engine still has it's own ignition switch so two keys have to be used to operate the vehicle. EnginesTwo completely stock 2.2 ltr DOHC VTEC engines. Each produces 200 hp and 156 ft-lbs of torque and goes up to 7500 rpm. There was minor service work done to both engines such as timing belt, water pump, and misc seals that seeped due to sitting around. The front engine has 140,000 miles and the rear 125,000 miles. SuspensionLowered 2 inches on stiffer springs. Stock shocks and modified towers to accommodate the new ride height. The rear suspension is essentially the front suspension out of a twin prelude and was modified after the Acura NSX with the static caster set to zero, minimal bump steer, and the IC slightly above the CG to help anti-squat. All designs were done by a team of qualified mechanical engineers. all welding was done by a certified welder, and all welds were inspected by a certified welding inspector. The portion of the front chassis that replaced the rear part of the chassis has been reinforced with heavy gauge steel designed for horsepower gains. traction is perfect as the power per wheel didn't change, the front to rear weight distribution is nearly 50/50. The rear now has front diskbrakes and a front stiffer sway bar. The ride feels stock and interior just moderate noise from the rear engine but when you brake or corner, it's a completely different animal. An alignment was performed and the car goes straight. TiresUsed 215/45/17 tires with about 75% tread stretched on brand new 17x9 Rota Torque rims. Slightly more camber than stock. PerformanceThe engines are stock and the power and torque adds up directly and is "use-able" due to the four wheel drive traction and front to rear weight distribution. The engines were synced through the throttle pedal via cables and the transmission gear selector also operates both transmissions. Both transmissions are operated in parallel by the front TCM with manual shiftronic perfectly switch gears if desired. Total power is 400 hp and 312 ft lbs of torque. Measurements in a straight line acceleration reached as much as 0.8 g's. The 0-60 was measured to be in the mid 4's and the calculated 1/4 miles should be mid 12's but not yet verified. Cornering is better, braking is better, and accelerating out of a turn raises the hairs on your neck as both VTEC systems kick in at 5000 rpm. Both emission systems remain in perfect working order.
