88 Cav Up for bid is a 1988 Chevy Cavalier RS with just 41k one Richmond, VA, owner miles. Original title issued in 1988. Incredibly optioned for a 4 cyl 88 Cavalier with nearly every option except V6. Powered by GMs fuel injected 2.0L 4 cylinder with great reputation for longevity, and 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission. Delivers 22 mpg in town and 32 highway at 70 mph. Car was clearly garage kept with no dash cracks and minimal paint aging. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all four cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Starts easy and runs strong. TRANSMISSION: Performs beautifully. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. EXTERIOR:Body: Body is in very nice shape with no notable damage, not even a door ding. Way above average body. Paint: Paint looks great all over and ALL original paint. Minor aging showing in clearcoat (not quite as shiny as new) but no peeling or lifting. Extremely nice for age. Other: Plastic bumpers and trim in good shape - not cracked. Windshield and all glass in good shape with no cracks or chips. Undercarriage is beautiful southern solid - see the pics. Newer exhaust. Underhood is nice and unmolested. Optional aluminum wheels are in great shape with some fading but no curb rash. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape as youd expect of the low miles. The only complaint is the typical sagging 80s headliner, which is about $150 to replace. Dash has no cracks, cloth seating areas are in great shape with a tiny tear on drivers seat as pictured, door panels are nice with no cracks or fading. Carpets are in nice shape with no major wear or stains and sports all 4 original GM floormats. No smoke or pet odors. WAY above average interior. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) INCREDIBLY optioned and ALL the options work, with power windows, power locks, hot heat and cold A/C converted to 134a, tilt, cruise, am/fm stereo cassette, intermittent wipers, trunk release, and rear defroster. Note also has optional aluminum alloy wheels, too. The only options missing are V6 and power drivers seat - has every other option for 1988. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out incredibly nice for a Cavalier - smooth and tight as youd expect of 41k miles. Steering is tight, alignment is good, suspension is tight. Brakes work well with good linings. Tires have about 80% tread remaining on two matched pairs of good quality radials. Solid, quiet, newer exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.)
