Vehicle Detail
The first generation buick Rîvieras are the most sought after rivieras of all, as they were designed by the legendary GM head designer Bill Mitchell, who also designed the c2 and c3 Corvettes, in his own words, his inspiration for this magnificent car was to combine rolls Royce luxury with Ferrari styling, it stunned the automotive world at the time has has continued to impress with its great timeless looks to this very day! Take off the oil cap and marvel at how clean it is inside.....it should as has less than 1500 hundred miles on the rebuild, runs cool, has great oil pressure, and it drives smooth and straight, the interior is in very nice shape, new carpet, new upholstery ,solid sheetmetal, solid floors, and trunk, new front coil springs, new gas tank, new muffler, nearly new tires, and is equipped with pwr windows, AC, pwr locks, remote trunk release, pwr drivers seat, tilt wheel, cruise, and one of the rarest of all GM 1960s options......the AUTRONIC EYE, which is the automatic head light dimmer found on the Cadillac and Rîviera. As stated above the paint is well above driver quality, and the chrome and stainless is original to the car and is not of show quality, but still plenty respectable, and the car gets plenty of compliments at every car show and cruise night. That being said it does have a few areas that have not been important to me, but I do want to disclose: the AC is not working, the cruise and AUTRONIC eye are not hooked up, the power seat motor runs but I belive it has slipped off it's track, and not engaging it teeth, and the parking brake is not functioning pretty minor and probably easy to fix for a do it yourselfer, the radio has been acting up ,but I purchased another one from a buick owners club member, and will include it in the sale, in the trips out of state and out on the expressways, we have kept sustained speeds as high as 80 mph without incident, and it tracks straight and true, and that absolutely gorgeous rumble sound that is produced by the dual exhaust, never fails to transport me back to that fun era when cool cars were king, and made us feel so good just to be alive and cruising down the road! I have included many pics to show its beauty and condition, and have tried to disclose what I believe about the car, and bidders are invited to schedule an inspection before bidding, to see for yourself, and you may write or call with any additional info requests 630-935-3333 A classic car of this age is of course sold as is where is without warranty, a non refundable 500.00 deposit is required immediately after auction, with balance to be paid in cash at time of delivery, unless other arrangements are agreed to by me in advance.
