I purchased this CJ-5 last year as a project/toy and due to lack of time and travel have decided to sell. It has a very strong running 304V8 that was rebuilt approximately 15K miles ago by the previous owner. The 3 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch is strong. There are no drips or leaks, no smoke and no stories....this Jeep has a very healthy sound to it with the current dual exhaust system that was installed at the time of the engine rebuild - no emissions. It has virtually no rust as the tub is fiberglass and the conversion was done the right way - no rust on undercarriage either. All of the gauges work properly and there are no electrical issues that I am aware of. Below is a list of things that I have replaced/upgraded under my ownership. Basic maintenance items, such as oil and filter change, new air filter, fuel filter, radiator flush, brake fuid and power steering flush, new spark plugs, cap/rotor, carb properly adjusted, transmission and transfer case fluids are clean, at proper levels and operating normally. Rear brakes completely rebuilt including new drums, wheel cylinders and pads (front brake pads are still thick), replaced brake master cylinder and power booster, power steering works smoothly, upgraded headlights for better visibility, new under dash speaker system for console mounted and covered Pioneer FM stereo/CD Player, new American black matte wheels, four new BF Goodrich Mud Terrain Tires, 4 wheel alignment done by specialists to ensure it was correct related to lift kit ....new front and rear seat covers and floor mats from Quadratec, comes with original black soft top and doors, and newer bikini top. I'm sure I am forgetting a lot of other little fixes that I have made. The body is in good shape, and from 10-15 feet it looks sharp....close inspection will reveal some imperfections in the paint, however there is no body damage. If this Jeep is used as it is intended to be, than when its covered in mud you won't see a thing! Any questions, please ask - I'm happy to provide any information that you may seek. The plastic glass is intact, the top has no leaks that I recall - I haven't had the top on it in quite a while - its actually stored away in my garage but does come with the purchase....I'm happy to provide photos to anyone that requests them. "What else mechanical does it need?" - mechanically nothing as far as I know or am concerned...it runs and drives strong - no issues....and no, it doesn't smoke/burn oil/run hot.... nor does it leak anything...if it did I wouldn't keep it in my enclosed garage. For anyone that would need to have the Jeep transported, I am very willing cooperate with the shipping company of your choice - and yes, it will easily fit on any car hauler.....that's it for now.
