For your consideration a 1965 Thunderbird Convertible Project Car. This car sat for over 15 years after an unfortunate brake failure, When backing out of his Garage, the original owner hit a tree in his yard to stop the car . In the process he broke the park gear in the transmission trying to stop before hitting the tree with the right rear corner, the car had an older restoration done at some point prior to the tree accident. It looks like the Quarter panels and Rockers were replaced at that time and the car was repainted the original gold color . The Interior is original cloth in fair shape for it age but is showing its age. I bought the car when the original owners family needed to get it out of the garage to sell the house were it had sat since early 1990's after it was damaged. I went though the Brakes it has new rotors calipers brake hoses master cylinder rear wheel cylinders rear drums where turned and new rear brake shoes were installed and a new line was run front to rear, the brakes work fine now , I also cleaned out the fuel tank installed new Fuel Pump & Hoses Rebuilt the Carburetor , installed new plugs points condenser rotor cap , wires and new coil & Radiator & Heater Hoses and Belts were replaced . I Flushed the cooling system installed a new thermostat and replaced the coolant with fresh Anti Freeze. I also got an oil change and new filter . The engine runs good now , so well in fact that the sellers claim to me that 57K was the original miles on the car is believable. I also sand blasted the wheels and epoxy painted them in the original black and installed new Hankook White Wall tires in the original specified size for the car. The complete set of factory wheel covers are in good shape and come with the car . The drivers floor pan was replaced with a hand formed piece of metal at some point due to rust there but I bought a reproduction drivers floor pan that comes with the car to redo that properly the rest of the floor pan looks pretty good . The rockers are rusting on the bottoms and need to be repaired or replaced . The rear Collision Damage will require a used bumper assy. & I would get a rear body section cut off a solid coupe to use for the pieces needed to fix the rear damage or find a parts car, coupes that need work are still around pretty cheap in most areas. I'm not interested in selling parts off this car my situation has changed since I bought the car last year and I won't be able to get back to it anytime soon but if it doesn't sell I eventually will get back to restoring it, so I have no interest in selling any parts off this car. I made a video of the car that shows it running ,top functioning and shows it on a lift so you can see the underside . Feel free to ask questions I can store for 30days as long as the car is paid for in full after the auction, if you need that time to come get it or to make transport arrangements I can be flexible . I can also help you find a transporter as long as its understood you will be paying the transport cost to ship it to you.
