Relisting. The high bidder decided he didn't want the car after all. No worries. I want this to go to someone who will preserve and enjoy it. With that being said, please look at the photos, watch the you tube videos, and ask questions! I always do my best to describe everything I sell to the best of my ability. I would never want someone to feel that they were cheated in any way. 1928 Model A Tudor. A nice original car. When I got it she had been stored in a barn under cover since 2005. I got it to run and drive. Leaks oil, most likely the rear main bearing rope seal. I had to install a purge line at the bottom of the fuel tank to catch rust. Seems to be mostly running clear now. The body is in good shape with a few dings here and there. The drivers door latch needs to be adjusted, the door is hard to close. The headlights and horn don't work. The tires have tread and hold air but look old. Chrome has some surface rust and pitting. One side of the rear bumper bar is rusted and broken. I think this A could take two very different paths. With very little effort, it could be driven and enjoyed just the way it is. Or it is a excellent candidate for a complete restoration. After doing some research, this A is somewhat unique in that the emergency brake is to the left of the clutch. This was only the case in a few early A's before it was redesigned and moved to the center of the floor. It also has the original 2 blade fan. I have some sort of accessory luggage rack (not currently mounted) that goes with the car. Mostly everything on this car seems original, although I am by no means an expert. I would be happy to take more photos, videos, or have you stop by and take a look before bidding. Selling with no reserve. Thanks for looking! Brad Update# 1 Several have asked if I will end the auction early. doesn't that defeat the purpose of an auction? Give me a break. If you want the car then bid on it. Update# 2 Even more have asked for the Engine number and the VIN number. I've posted pictures of both. The number stamped on the engine is DMV42042. The VIN plate says Arizona AZ-113306, Control# 125306. The story goes that when this A was new, many states, including NY, would not register the early 1928's because they did not have a separate emergency brake system. Thus the redesign and the move the center of the car. The solution for this particular owner was to register it in a state that did not have this stipulation (Arizona). Thus the updated VIN plate. I cannot confirm the accuracy of this story. Update# 3 I've added a photo of the build date stamped in the firewall. It is 8-7-28. On May-25-15 at 09:28:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Update # 4 The Model A community is a wealth of information. A fellow member pointed out that the wheel appear to be later, perhaps 1930or 1931. I don't have the original wheels. Another pointed out that the build date of 8-7-1928 would be considered mid-late, not early, and that many 1928 models had the e-brake on the left. He also surmised that the engine had probably been changed at some point thus the non-original Arizona VIN plate I have posted a couple videos on utube. Search my channel BradsBuicks1.
