Riding GM’s outstanding GMT900 truck architecture, the Yukon line parallels the Chevy Tahoe range, with small differences in styling, trim, feature content, and price—the GMC offerings are slightly more expensive than their Chevy counterparts. In addition to the regular, plain ol’ Yukon, there’s the Yukon XL, GMC’s version of the Chevy Suburban, and the Yukon Denali, a loaded version of either Yukon with more muscle and upscale appointments. Aside from the hybrid, Yukon engine choices are all gasoline V-8s—no diesels: a 295-hp 4.8-liter (base Yukon); a 320-hp 5.3-liter (with cylinder deactivation and the option of an E85 flex-fuel capability); a 6.0-liter rated for 320, 352, or 366 horsepower, depending on application; and a 380-hp 6.2-liter. The base engine for the jumbo Yukon XL is the 5.3-liter V-8, but beyond that the powerplants are the same as those in the standard Yukon and Denali. Transmission choices for nonhybrid Yukes include four- and six-speed automatics, depending on engine, and full-time four-wheel drive is among the options. Passenger capacities range from six to nine, and towing capacities range from 6000 to 8200 pounds for the Yukon, 8000 to 9700 for the Yukon XL. Muscle and mass demand feeding, and these are thirsty brutes. EPA ratings range from 14 to 21 mpg city and 18 to 22 mpg highway for the shorter Yukon, 12–14 city/17–20 highway for the XL. Be aware, however, that running E85 where possible makes these trucks even thirstier by as much as 25 percent. Verdict Muscle with manners: Although these full-size utes are not appropriate as commuters or suburban errand runners, if the agenda includes lots of passengers and/or heavy towing, the GMC big boys deliver style, comfort, and utility that’s tough to top. What’s New for 2008 For this year, GMC wedged the two-mode gasoline-electric hybrid model into the lineup, made StabiliTrak stability control standard on XL 2500 models, and added a rear-drive model to the Denali lineup. There are also a few new colors. Trim Levels Although there are variations within each grouping and GMC treats four-wheel-drive and heavy-duty 2500-series models as separate entities, Yukon and Yukon XL trim levels fall under three basic headings: SLE, SLT, and Denali. Yukon: The 2WD Yukon SLE ($36,245) includes the 4.8-liter V-8 and four-speed automatic, stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, a heavy-duty locking rear differential, a trailering package, a 160-amp alternator, 17-inch aluminum wheels, heated power side mirrors, tinted glass, a luggage rack, and air conditioning. It also has a power driver’s seat, an eight-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise-control switches, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a digital compass, three 12-volt power outlets, XM satellite radio, and a theft-deterrent system. Add $800 for the 5.3-liter V-8. A 4WD-equipped Yukon SLE costs $40,105 and requires the 5.3-liter V-8. The next rung up the ladder is the SLT, which runs $38,240 with 2WD, the 5.3-liter V-8 with Active Fuel Management, and the four-speed automatic. In addition to SLE standard features, the SLT includes fog lamps, bucket front seats, remote start, power-adjustable foot pedals, a universal garage-door opener, auto climate control, an upgraded audio system with a six-CD in-dash changer, and five 12-volt power outlets. A Yukon SLT with 4WD is $41,095. For the ultimate in non-Escalade GMT900 luxury, seek out the Yukon Denali, where your 47,385 hard-earned bucks will get you a 2WD SUV powered by a monster 6.2-liter V-8 hooked to a six-speed automatic. In addition to (or instead of) SLT standard features, the Denali includes an auxiliary transmission-oil cooler, variable shock damping and automatic load leveling, 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, a lockable under-frame spare-tire carrier, a body-color roof rack with cross rails, body-color side moldings, projector beam headlamps, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals and auto dimming on the driver’s side, rain-sensing wipers, leather first- and second-row seats, heated front buckets with 12-way power adjustability, heated second-row captain’s chairs, and a third-row bench seat. We can’t forget the leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood trim, the 10-speaker Bose audio system, or the one-year OnStar subscription—including turn-by-turn navigation—either. Plan on parting with $50,380 for a 4WD Denali. The brand-spanking-new Yukon hybrid is available in 2WD ($50,945) and 4WD ($53,755) configurations. That scratch will get a 6.0-liter V-8 working in tandem with two 80-hp electric motors and a four-speed automatic transmission that is actually continuously variable in electric mode. In addition to SLT features, the hybrid comes with a 300-volt battery pack, 42-volt electric power steering, regenerative braking, first- and second-row leather seat trim, heated power front bucket seats, a third-row bench seat, a DVD nav system, AM/FM/MP3 audio, a 115-volt power outlet, and a rearview camera system. Yukon XL: The major differences between the Yukon and Yukon XL are 14 inches of wheelbase, a little over 20 inches of additional length, more cargo capacity, and higher load limits. GMC does not have a hybrid version of the Yukon XL at this time, but it does sell heavier-duty 2500-series models. The trim levels—SLE, SLT, and Denali—include essentially the same content. Accordingly, we list them here with base prices only. The Yukon XL SLE includes the 5.3-liter V-8 and four-speed automatic as standard and costs $39,815 in 2WD guise and $42,655 with 4WD. Moving up to the SLT 2WD or 4WD nets the same base powertrain and prices of $40,660 and $43,495, respectively. The XL Denali has the 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic; it’s priced at $49,990 for a rear-drive model and $53,075 for one with four-wheel drive. The stouter Yukon XL 2500 models include a 6.0-liter V-8 and a six-speed automatic as the standard powertrain. They run from $41,235 for an SLE 2WD to $44,885 for an SLT 4WD. Optional Equipment All Yukons come well equipped, but GMC offers a broad array of options packages and features too lengthy to list in their entirety. We limit this coverage to highlighting major packages and significant optional features. However, since some combined packages—the Sun, Entertainment, and Destinations package, for example—include features that are also available as free-standing options, we list those features separately as well. Yukon XL options parallel those of the standard Yukons. SLE buyers can upgrade with the 5.3-liter V-8 ($800; choice of gas only or E85 flex-fuel capable), the Convenience package (power-adjustable pedals, parking assist, remote start; $610); the Exterior Appearance package (bright finish aluminum wheels, fog lamps, front tow hooks; $475, standard with 4WD); a 50/50-split third-row bench seat (two-passenger, $360; three-passenger, $460), or an audio system with a six-CD changer ($300). The SLT options list includes the $4790 Sun, Entertainment, and Destinations package (power sunroof, DVD nav system, rear-seat DVD entertainment, six-CD changer), a rear-seat entertainment system ($1295), a DVD-based nav system ($2250; includes a nine-speaker Bose premium audio), a nine-speaker Bose audio system ($500), and a power-sliding sunroof ($995). Other options include the third-row bench seat (two-passenger, $760; three-passenger, $860), second-row captain’s chairs ($590), 20-inch polished aluminum wheels ($1795), the SLT Chrome Edition (chrome door handles, mirrors, tow hooks, and grille and polished aluminum wheels; $1980), and a rearview camera system ($250). Denali add-ons include power-retractable assist steps ($1095), 20-inch chrome aluminum wheels ($1995), a heated steering wheel ($150), and the Sun, Entertainment, and Destinations package. The gas-electric hybrid’s options mostly mirror the SLT's options. Safety StabiliTrak stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, dual front airbags with passenger sensors, and curtain airbags are standard on all Yukons. Side airbags are not offered. 2007 GMC Yukon Denali (pretty much the same as our '08)The understated Escalade. Short Take Road Test Everybody on the street knows when a Cadillac Escalade rumbles by: It's what hoop dreams are made of, what rap artists aspire to. Why don't folks feel that way about the GMC Yukon Denali? It was the Denali that GM favored by introducing it first, back in 1998. But it has always stood in the Escalade's shadow-a few thousand dollars cheaper, with 10 to 20 fewer horses and none of the Cadillac truck's notoriety-even though mostly superficial differences separate them. For 2007 comes an even more Escalade-like Denali, with a shared 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed, that should nonetheless continue to take a corporate-designated second place. This new powertrain is, for now, exclusive to Denali and Escalade models, but we expect the six-speed will eventually make its way down-market. That drivetrain is also the Denali's biggest difference among lesser Yukons, since all of GM's full-size SUVs benefit from a stiffer chassis, improved fit and finish, much enhanced interiors, and upgraded road manners. The bored-out all-aluminum 6.2-liter engine sports variable cam timing and makes 380 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque (a seemingly random 23 horsepower and two pound-feet shy of the '07 Escalade), and the 6L80 six-speed is a simplified transmission design-GM's first "clutch to clutch"-which is roughly the same size as the old four-speed unit. In practice, it almost always serves up smooth shifts and is happy to kick down two or three ratios when prodded. Our only complaint is that the tranny won't hold gears in either trailer-towing or manu-matic mode, which means those functions can't be used to prevent a shift while towing up a slight grade, for example. Speaking of towing, the Denali's rating of 7400 pounds is oddly lower than that of the outgoing model and the lesser 5.3-liter four-wheel-drive Yukons. The full-time 40/60-split all-wheel drive is basically unchanged (a rear-drive model comes later). Give the Denali the boot and the front wheels squawk as they claw for traction on the way to a mighty 6.2-second 0-to-60 dash and 15.0-second quarter-mile time, besting the last-gen Escalade by 1.6 and 1.0 seconds, respectively. These stats would also lay low competitors such as the Lincoln Navigator and Infiniti QX56. Even with an increase of 45 horsepower and 40 pound-feet over the previous Denali, the 2007 model manages the same 13-mpg city rating and betters the highway number by 2 mpg to 19. We were surprised to attain 20 mpg on highway stretches, even at near-80-mph speeds. But in the real world of traffic jams and stoplights, we averaged 12 mpg-not exactly barroom bragging material. Visually, the Denali adds a few chrome pieces, including a mesh grille, door handles, and roof rails. It also comes with a collection of standard equipment such as a power liftgate, Bose sound system, remote starter, Nuance leather seats, and 18-inch wheels (our tester had the optional 20s). When it comes to luxury, however, the Denali stops short of the Escalade; it doesn't have a differentiated interior design with soft-touch plastics or white-LED backlighting for the gauges. Still, the best thing about GM's new SUVs is their driving behavior. Autoride (two-position automatically adjusting dampers) is still the Denali's suspension of choice, and over a stretch of rough pavement this 5610-pound brute feels impossibly solid and composed and, at the same time, comfortably compliant. Driver inputs funnel through pleasantly weighted steering, which feels more precise than that of most other large SUVs, and an excellent firm brake pedal, even though stops from 70 mph are about average at 187 feet. The Denali's price has dropped $2070 to $47,990, a compelling $9000 less than an Escalade. But with standard second-row buckets, it holds just four adults (only small kids will fit in back, unlike in the Navigator). This strikes us as a rather expensive family hauler, especially considering that its value typically plummets about $20,000 in the first two years. But we never understood the surge of SUV sales, so what do we know? Your 50 grand buys this hugely improved, unhyped 90-percent Escalade. We understand you are buying online, but with us you are not buying blind! We handwrite every single description. We provide 24+ high resolution pictures & we inspect and photo what you see and what you can't see. We'll also be glad to email you detailed, closeup pictures of any area you'd like to see more of. People ask us all the time what is the catch to our vehicles. They assume that the prices are low because there is something wrong with them. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our secret is simple...LOW OVERHEAD. We are an internet-only dealer. We do not maintain regular office hours or a large sales facility. We simply have a Mississippi bonded dealer's license, a storage lot, and a computer. Since we don't have dozens of mechanics, helpers, salesmen, secretaries, etc. on our payroll; we are able to sell at greatly reduced prices. You will notice that we sometimes go with private auctions. Our reasons are twofold...the latest scam is to send bogus 2nd chance offers to customers from a fake email address in an attempt to scam them out of money. With a private auction the scammers won't know who our bidders are so if you get a 2nd chance offer from us you will know that it is the real deal! In addition, we set our reserves to sell which upsets other sellers! In fact, sometimes we set our reserve $1,000 or more below what our cost is. This leads other sellers to email our customers and knock our product! We will provide the winning bidder, upon request, with a complete bid history including the usernames & bid amounts of all other bidders. All new or low feedback (under 5 positives) bidders must first email us for no other reason than just to make contact. This way we know we have serious bidders! If you don't make contact we will cancel your bid and black you out from future bidding. We do this to avoid the de@dbe@t bidders, so please respect our policy. If you have a rating of 5 or better you don't have to email us. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy our site and add us to your favorites, because you just never know when your dream vehicle will pop up!!! We've put this vehicle through our EXTENSIVE inspection process & can report it has a great ride & drive! We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen.That's about all we can find to nitpick. Yes, the odometer currently shows 729 miles. This is a bank repo which required a new engine computer that the bank had installed before they sold it. For whatever reason, when you physically disconnect the engine battery the odometer resets to 0. Otherwise it and the speedometer work fine and as long as you don't unhook the batteries it will keep up with the mileage. We were told the mileage before updating the computer was right around 30k, but we have no documentation on that. However, based on the condition of the coach, we believe it to be accurate. WATCH THE VIDEO. If you have any specific questions then don't hesitate to call us email us. Please understand we do our best to describe, in detail, every vehicle we offer to the Ebay public. However, if you have any hesitation during the bidding period, please obtain a Buyer's Inspection PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR BID to satisfy yourself. After the auction ends, understand you are the legal winning bidder of this auction and agree to all our Terms and Conditions. Be sure and take a look at the book values on this vehicle (or any other we have for sale) before you bid. We stopped offering a built-in BuyIt Now option due to ebay's policy of letting anyone with an email address register a username. We had half a dozen de@dbe@t bidders in a row hit the BIN with no intention of paying. We do have a BuyIt Now price so give us a call if you're interested. Make sure you call us for more information on this vehicle. As always though, our reserve is THOUSANDS less than NADA value so bid early & bid often so you don't miss out! Don't be outbid at the last minute! With the eBay proxy bidding system all you have to do is enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay when you get ready to bid. Ebay will then automatically bid against other people for you up to that amount to help make sure you don't miss out. This saves you from getting sniped in the last few seconds of an auction by someone with a computer program. Don't try and bid in small increments at the last minute...go ahead & bid the full amount you're willing to pay then let eBay do the hard work! This vehicle is for sale locally so we must reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. However, once the reserve is met then we will let the auction run its course & sell to the high bidder. Now for the fine print... Warranty Information AS IS - NO WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. Please be aware that we are NOT PERFECT. We go to great lengths to make sure our ads are correct, BUT occasionally we do make a mistake. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Folks, we don't mean to sound harsh, but we do sell used cars. If you want a car in brand new condition then go pay anywhere from $20-60,000 or more at a new car dealer. We will make every reasonable effort to describe the vehicle, and we include many photos to assist in that effort. However, it is important to remember that these vehicles are pre-owned, not brand new. Therefore, minor items such as cigarette lighters, manuals, CD changer magazines, keyless entry remotes, etc. may be missing. And, as with any used vehicle, minor signs of wear may become apparent under close inspection. This may include small chips, light scratches or minor abrasions, wheel scuffs, and other indications of normal wear and tear. We cannot and will not be held liable or responsible for these issues. We Disclose our cars as much as we can, But don't forget you are bidding on a USED car. If you have any questions about the condition please feel free to contact us. We Sell At Below-Wholesale Prices And Cannot Provide Spare Keys Or Floor Mats Unless They Are Already With A Vehicle. Feel free to contact us if you need this information. We CANNOT Be Held Responsible For Expenses Or Repairs Beyond The Point Of Delivery. We say this for the simple fact that once you leave then what happens hundreds of miles down the road is out of our control. We do our best to make all our vehicles road-ready. In most cases we have already driven them 4-800 miles ourselves. Terms of Sale Fee and Tax Information: MS Residents Must Pay The 5% State Sales Tax on all motorized vehicles (7% on anything else such as campers, travel trailers, etc.) and a $100 Title/Doc Fee. All Other U.S. Buyers Will Pay Their Own State Taxes Themselves In Their Home State. All other bidders pay only a $99 Documentation Fee in addition to the winning bid. This covers our costs for a notary, Fedex charges, and other paperwork. Louisiana, Canadian and other foreign buyers must pay a $149 Documentation Fee to cover the extra Fedex and other expenses associated with doing international (and Cajun) paperwork. We do have Mississippi temporary tags available if you desire one for an additional $50. However, we've sent hundreds of RVs all over the country without them & nobody has ever had an issue driving home. If you want one, LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE. We do not keep them on hand. Winning bidder MUST contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. Balance due within 5 days of auction end. This is due to the large number of de@dbeat bidders out there. If no contact is made within 24 hours we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or otherwise dispose of it. PLEASE arrange your own financing prior to bidding. De@dbeat bidders WILL receive negative feedback & be reported to ebay. Payment Must Be Made VIA Cashier's Check, Bank-to-Bank Wire Transfer, or Cash (in person). We must be able to verify funds prior to vehicle delivery. Generally we have almost all titles on hand. However, we sometimes buy vehicles that are dealer trade-ins where there is a payoff involved so the title may be delayed. Feel free to contact us if you need to verify we have the title on hand for a particular vehicle. All Titles Are Held For Up To 14 Working Days For Funds To Clear, Then Will Be Sent via Priority Mail. On Average, Titles Go Out Within a Few Days, But Occasionally There May Be Delays Beyond Our Control. We Cannot Accept Credit Card or Escrow Payments. Our insurance policy will not allow it. If you are not sure about something, Please ASK. Do not assume anything not listed is included. Please make sure that the contact information (email address and phone number) in your ebay profile is up to date. If you're email bounces back on us then we will block you from further bids until you call us. Occasionally we may call to verify a bidder is legitimate. This is how we make our living. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to Ebay. We are not one of those sellers who is afraid to leave bad feedback where it is due even at the risk of receiving it ourselves in return(one of the major flaws in eBay's feedback system). By placing a bid on this vehicle that meets or exceeds the reserve, you agree that you are making a binding commitment to purchase this vehicle. Your bid constitutes your agreement that any disputes which may (hopefully not) arise will be conducted in Hinds County, Mississippi. PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY. When you are ready to step up to the Big Leagues, look no further than the Denali XL. This one has spent a pampered life out on the interstates & been kept in excellent condition by the previous owner and it shows both inside & out. Want to know how we can tell how nice it's been treated? The tires are knee deep in rubber and they're high dollar Bridgestones not some cheap Chinese knockoff brand tire.

2008 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, and Yukon Hybrid

What’s new, trim levels, optional equipment, and safety info for the 2008 GMC Yukon.

Review

Introduction

This is a big family in more ways than one, a line of utility vehicles (we omit the word sport , since it seems inappropriate for vehicles with minimum curb weights north of two-and-a-half tons) designed to make light of heavy loads.

Verdict

Muscle with manners: Although these full-size utes are not appropriate as commuters or suburban errand runners, if the agenda includes lots of passengers and/or heavy towing, the GMC big boys deliver style, comfort, and utility that’s tough to top.

What’s New for 2008

For this year, GMC wedged the two-mode gasoline-electric hybrid model into the lineup, made StabiliTrak stability control standard on XL 2500 models, and added a rear-drive model to the Denali lineup. There are also a few new colors.

Trim Levels

Although there are variations within each grouping and GMC treats four-wheel-drive and heavy-duty 2500-series models as separate entities, Yukon and Yukon XL trim levels fall under three basic headings: SLE, SLT, and Denali.

Optional Equipment

All Yukons come well equipped, but GMC offers a broad array of options packages and features too lengthy to list in their entirety.

Safety

StabiliTrak stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, dual front airbags with passenger sensors, and curtain airbags are standard on all Yukons. Side airbags are not offered.

2007 GMC Yukon Denali (pretty much the same as our '08)

The understated Escalade.

Short Take Road Test

Everybody on the street knows when a Cadillac Escalade rumbles by: It's what hoop dreams are made of, what rap artists aspire to.

This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.

Now the fine print...

We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen. That's about all we can find to nitpick.
