This is a 1970 buggy with the original gel coat and buyer should expect a body with the usual faults of such 1970 Shalako Street Buggy Motor and titled as a 1958 Among the hardest to find buggies, the Shalako was designed by famed car customizer Dick Dean (find him on Wikipedia for his story) and sold in very limited numbers. This particular example was purchased from Shalako East on Long island New York and comes with the original bill of sale to prove it. It was never on the road till around 2007. This Shalako still wears it's original orange/silver metal flake gel coat. It features low back bucket seats from an early triumph. The seats were reupholstered in the Summer of 2011 following the original design. The well-running VW engine is a single port 1968 1,500 equipped with a vintage Holley Bug Spray carb and running a 12 volt alternator with electronic ignition. The front bumper is on custom mounts and has been designed to be removed for purposes of towing. $500 deposit due at end of auction. Winner responsible to arrange and pay for shipping.
