Vehicle Detail
I bought this Jag as a second car and for my Son and I to have a little fun with. I've never owned one before and thought the lines were really attractive - we often get compliments wherever we go. My Son has since moved onto a Mustang (and a girl friend) so he's not around much. I have no time for it now (am looking for a single engine airplane project) and don't want it to just sit, which it has been for the past 4 - 5 weeks. I start it up and drive it around the parking lot every few days or so... I bought it in 2013 from TX - there is no rust Installed an XM radio We put a lot into it - from a new battery to a rebuilt transmission last year - it runs and drives great as is and would be an excellent car for a young do-it-yourself-er as it is will take a bit of TLC to get it back into outstanding shape. This car sold for over $60K back in 1997 - get it for fractions of a penny on the dollar! (that's my attempt at being a used car salesman...) Last week I asked my mechanic what it would take to get this car 100% and here's what he found: 1) Power steering pump moans a bit when turned sharply - replace with pre-owned part (as new one is very expensive)2) Replace sway bar links3) Replace upper strut mounts4) Could use front brake pads before long 5) My addition: Recover front bucket seats as leather is beginning to crack Title is clear and in hand Next week I will be removing the insurance and tag so be prepared to either flat-bed it away or drive it with your tags and Insurance - thanks for lookingOn May-11-15 at 07:37:10 PDT, seller added the following information: In response to the folks who have asked about service records; I only have the service records since I owned it beginning in Feb of 2013 - it had 88,000 miles. I did not replace the timing chain or tensioners and do not know if that was done by previous owner(s). Aside from standard LOF visits, I had the major following done over the past few years: 1) Replaced leaking valve covers: 3/132) Replace battery:3/13 3) Replace power steering pump:3/134) Replace plugs and bad coil:3/135) Replace idler belt tensioner:11/136) Replace RR control arm:10/137) Replace fuel filter:10/138) Service A/C system:10/139) Replace engine mounts;3/1310) Replace wheel bearing:3/1311) Replace water pump:8/1412) Replace rear brakes:5/1413) Replace all 4 tires:2/14 14? Replace hood strute:5/14Replace transmission:2/14On May-11-15 at 07:58:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Please forgive the typo-s above. I meant to say; "Aside from standard LOF visits,I had the following major and minor work done over the past few years." I would also like to point out that the paint is not perfect. While it looks great from say 25', I can see where some re-spray was done and the clear coat is peeling a bit in some places. BTW, I bought a can of professional clear coat touch up from Eastwood Co. (a company that sells wonderful products for car restoration enthusiasts) - I have not used it and will include that with the sale
