Vehicle Detail
2000 Chevy Suburban K1500 (K15906) 4x4. 173k. Leather seats. Owned for about three years, had 166k on it when I bought it, so I haven't used it much. Used mainly to take the family on vacation, move kids to college, and occasionally tow cars. Starts right up, runs, drives, and shifts fine. 4wd works. Has third row seat, creating seating for seven. Third and second rows fold forward to create massive amounts of cargo space. Trailer hitch. Photos of exterior were just taken, so this is how it looks. Photos of the interior are about two years old but that's still pretty much how the interior looks, maybe just slightly more worn. Had four new tires put on it when I bought it. It has the following issues: --Has rust holes on front corners of both rear fenders and on right rocker panel. I covered the rust up last year with metal tape and spray painted it with reddish primer. --Has a "tick tick tick" sound that I believe to be a cracked exhaust manifold, but I don't know for sure. It's had this for a year. It runs and drives fine, but when you get on the gas you can hear it get louder. --Hood has the clear coat flaking on it, and also has a good-sized gap with the fenders, indicating it was replaced at some point. --Car sat all winter, and now that I'm driving it, it feels like there are some deposits on the brake rotors, a very small pulsation in the rotors and a faint scraping sound as the wheels go around. Brakes feel a bit weak. Possibly could use front pads, but I don't know for sure. --On certain turns, I believe I'm hearing some clicking from the left front wheel, possibly indicating a worn left front CV joint, but I don't not for sure. --The car had great freezing cold air conditioning (front and rear air), but I just tested it, and it doesn't seem to be blowing cold, so it's possible it developed a leak over the winter. --The stereo works, but the cassette player does not. Car is registered and insured and can be driven for test drive. Just took it for a spin myself, 20 miles up and down the Mass Pike without any issues. I think it would make an excellent contractor vehicle, work vehicle, or knock-around truck. I'm not sure it's the best car for your wife and kids, but what thousand dollar car is? Car is also advertised locally in Craigslist Boston.
