Vehicle Detail

1999 BMW K1200LT-C with 62,636 miles. Standard features include Reverse, Heated Grips and Seats, Radio, CD, Intercom, Electronic Cruise Control, Electrically Adjustable Windscreen, ABS brakes. Bridgestone BT-020 tires have about 1k miles on them. Updates include a Technik VStream Windscreen, Bakup Driver's Backrest, Powergrid Shift linkage, Accessory Shelf, Headlamp Guard, and the radio antenna has been moved to the inside of the trunk. I purchased this bike off Ebay in December of 2012, and I have only ridden it about 200 miles since then. I was planning on touring again in my retirement, but I have come to realize my touring days are over. I have a Burgman scooter for around town, so time to sell the Beemer. The previous owner had been rear-ended at a stoplight. Damage was a bent shifter and some damaged panels (Lower Rear Panel, RH Saddlebag Lid). I replaced the shift linkage and shifter, and I have purchased a used replacement Lower Rear Panel, but it is not installed - see photos. I have also purchased used replacement crash bar trim pieces, and a NOS RH saddlebag chrome trim piece - again, see photos. I changed the oil and filter last month. This bike sold on Ebay for $3300 a few weeks ago. I took the bike out for a last ride before shipping to the buyer, and noticed the clutch starting to slip at 4500 RPM, when shifting from 4th to 5th gear. I called the buyer, refunded his money, and canceled the transaction. The bike can still be driven, and runs through all the gears, as long as the RPM's are keep at a normal range. However, this condition will worsen, and the bike needs a new clutch. I called Bloodworth's BMW in Nashville, and the service manager said the cost of a new clutch, etc., could run as high as $1800. Please contact your local dealer for their estimate. There are other cosmetic issues that I have tried to show in the photos. Please ask any questions. ABS lights were flashing after a charge of the battery, now lights are working properly and brakes work fine. Also included in this auction are previous owner service records, a Clymer's Service manual, Motorcycle Cover, and two HJC helmets (XXL and XS) with speakers and cords. This is a nice touring bike, with many extras, for a great starting price, reduced for the clutch and cosmetic issues. Someone who can do the clutch work can save big, as the labor estimate from the BMW dealer was right at $1000. I can be available to meet your shipper, and can assist in packing up the extra parts, etc.
