I dont know how it got there as I purchased the bike 3 years ago and it was already there. If you wish to replace the tank they seem to be are available for about $100. This motorcycle is ideal for the RVer or a beginning motorcycle for a new rider. With the included Motorcycle carrier you can take the bike anywhere you want to go.
