This Base Coupe LT4/ 6 speed Corvette example includes the following: * Only 2 Florida Owners, Clean Carfax, and High Score Autocheck, NO Accidents, Garaged and Driven Easy on the nice flat Salt free roads of Florida. * Adult Owned, (original owner was a lady through 2006) * Torch Red body with wonderful paint, and in clean unmolested condition It's hard to notice any paint imperfections unless drying off body after washing. Wheels shiny and have original clear coat coating, though show rub weathered marks, which is common. No Dents or rash. * Gray Leather Trim Interior. Clean crisp interior, showing minimal wear. Rear cargo area shows some wear spots, but nothing ripped or torn at all, and has a rear cargo carpet mat that finishes it off nicely. The rear Sunshade in great shape, and fully operational.* Clean Console, and proper fitting and operating lid * New front A-Pillar, mid B-Pillar, and Rear Hatch Weatherstrips, all others are good {one of the attached pictures display the day they were installed} * This Corvette has been always well maintained, and never beat up on. Including Convertibles and Coupes, there were a total of 3,350 Base Corvettes produced with the LT4 Grand Sport engine, another 2,009 were Collector Edition Silver Color Corvettes, and lastly 1,000 of the Blue Grand Sport models, totaling 6,359. By doing so Chevy was hoping to continue to ride high on the two year winning streak that the super car had enjoyed in the sales department. However, despite the last year of the ZR-1 un 1995, and a limited edition Indy 500 pace car replica, this would not come to pass. ZR1 was eliminated, and the LT4 350 put in play for 1996.As far as the body of the car itself went the 1995 Corvette only received remedial changes some of which were included on the last year of the era 1996, and included:Better Sound: The 1995 Corvette’s CD player was reinforced better to stop the frequent skipping that could occur over bumps and other rough areas, and was continued for 1996Revised Fenders: The 1995 Corvette featured a sort of ‘gill’ vent on both of the front fenders, and was continued for 1996Rattle Reduction: As a chief complaint with buyers was still the rattles that the Corvette produced, the Chevy boys responded by installing adhesive strips that would reduce some rattle in strategically located places throughout the cabin, and was continued for 1996Breathing beneath the 1996 Corvette was the now familiar LT1 V-8 engine. Though the power once more stayed at 300 horses there were still refinements that continued being made. For 1996 The LT4 with 330HP as advertised, and only mated to the ZF 6 Speed Manual Transmission, hosted a bevy of internal differences over the LT1. These included, but were not limited to 10.8 compression and different design pistons, revised Crank, hotter Cam Specs allowing for 500+ additional RPM's to the Redline, along with Roller Rocker Arms, and Timing Chain with HD Sprocket, Big Valve Large Port Cylinder Heads mated to a specific and larger Intake Manifold, etc. etc. Refinements such as revised connecting rods for the LT1, a fuel injection system that could tolerate the use of alcohol-blended fuel, and an engine fan that ran quieter ( all included on the LT4 engines as well ), all made for a better overall LT1, and once again GM had improved, though slightly, on an already wonderful engine.All 1995 & 1996 Corvette models also came standard with traction control and anti-lock brakes. Also, take note that the braking system was further complimented by receiving the same heavy duty RPO J55 code brakes as the super Vette’s ZR-1 did.>> To my fellow C4 devotee's. The 1996 is the best and quite possibly the most well thought out example of the thirteen year C4 model run. In my opinion, next to the great looking 1965-72 models, these later LT1's run as strong as 95% of the big blocks available in that era, with the LT4 330HP version matching it's early square port Big Block, Solid Cammed Corvette's, while bringing astounding drivability, and fuel mileage also. But these late C4's are so much more affordable at the current time, and they are finally now getting the value recognition they deserve. I've sold a few of my Corvette's on here since June 2011, in 2013 and early 2014. Check my feedback for them. I've had a love for the Corvette since I was old enough to buy my first 1972 back in 1977. Again, they are a great way to drive your money, so to speak. A great value, so no dissapointments here.
