This is a complete car. Everything is pretty much there and OEM. This car lived its first years in Florida, was bought by my father and he brought it to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1981. My father drove it daily until he bought a Cadillac (more comfortable seats - for him anyway). It has been sitting on blocks under tarps since about 2005. This car is the last year to be hand built and it is just waiting for someone to restore it to its full glory. I currently don't have the resources to redo this car. This would be a good everyday car. Every time I see a restored 280SL go by, I want to restore this for myself, but I just don't have the time or place to work on it. It has a 4 speed gearbox and a fuel injected inline 6 (plenty of smooth torque). As with all Mercedes, it was built to cruise at autobahn speeds all day and night. The car has not run in a few years, but with a little effort it can be made road worthy, although I would restore it somewhat before driving it. The car is located in Fremont California and has been in the San Francisco Bay Area since moving from Florida.
