1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback, C code, 289 V8 Poppy Seed Red Automatic with standard black interior drum brakes and manual steering. I bought this as a project five or six years ago with the intention of restoring it. I didn’t do any work on it, but only bought parts to restore it. Other projects have taken up my time and I realized that I’m not going to get to this any time soon and I need the space. Reluctantly, here it is for sale. She in need of total restoration, but has good bones. Someone cut out parts of the floor. I don’t think the entire floor needs replaced, but that is up to you. Rolls and turns without any issues. Over $3500 in new parts including Ford Tooling hood, right and left fenders, rear valance, taillight panel and left quarter panel. New rocker panel, floor pan kit, cowl, left and right inner and outer wheel houses, headlamp kits, left and right rear frame rails, etc. 95% of parts are from CJ Pony Parts. Lots of packages nuts, bolts and screws for specific parts of the car as well as a shoe box full of original nuts and bolts. . Also included are the original hood, left and right fenders and rear quarter panel. You can see in the pics what’s there. I have the original hood, right and left fenders and the left quarter panel. The black left quarter panel on the car is an original Ford part. It is not welded on, but just attached with some nuts and bolts. This was done before I bought it. I also have the original rear valance and a new GT Rear valance for dual exhaust. Complete all original glass in great shape. Front and rear windshields have factory green tint. The side glass is in great shape as well. Original chrome with few marks. No large bends or blemishes. Door sill plates have some bends on the end but can be straightened out. Included is the original gas tank and a new gas tank with filler tube and sending unit. The interior appears to be complete including a nice center console, very nice rear seat plus extra front seat covers. Original tags on both front seats. Rear view mirror and side mirrors are in great shape The original engine (on the engine stand) spins freely and appears to be in good shape. It was pulled before I bought the car. An additional 289 (torn down) is included as well as two C4 transmissions. I do not know the condition of any of these items. You’re buying them as is. I can tell you that they have never been stored outside in the elements. Engine stand NOT included in the auction. You're buying this Fastback as is, no warranties. What you see is what you get. I have not opened the "big box" items such as the fenders, hood, floor pan kit and inner and outer wheels and not responsible for their condition. They've always been stored out of the weather and don't know what would be wrong with them, but I just have to cover my butt. I packed away all the parts, but if you need a pic of something, I can dig them out. Don't assume anything, just ask. Clear PA title in my name and hand. Title will not be transferred until all moneys are exchanged and cleared. Odometer shows 922XX miles. I will not ship due to the quantity and size of the parts. Local pick only. I tried to describe the required repair work as a worst case scenario instead of making lite of the work at hand. I would rather describe something at its worst possible condition instead of best possible condition when selling something online since a large majority of people can only gauge their decision based on the photos and my description. I would rather deal with a pleasantly surprised person then an upset individual at pick up. Yes, it goes against the norm of popular thinking but makes the buying and selling process easier without the hidden surprises to the buyer. Labeling a car as a “solid candidate”, “rust bucket” or “basket case” is truly subjective based on the experience of the person reviewing the work to be completed. My opinion is that the rear frame rails need to be media blasted to reveal the work at hand. There are visibly a few spots of rot that need corrected, but mainly surface rust and dirt. I’m not sure about the lower cowl, but know that it’s a part that collects dirt and debris which holds moisture eventually leading to rust. My thought was why chance it with an issue occurring later when I have it apart I’ll just replace it now. As I mentioned in the listing, I don’t think that the entire floor needs replaced, but the previous owner cut out sections of the floor. The rocker has some bondo work on it, but depending on what type of restoration you are performing would determine whether to replace the entire rocker or explore the current fix for correctness and go from there. The parts are there if you need them, and if you don’t need them there is always someone to buy them for their project. I did media blast the front and hit it with a coat of primer, but the entire car needs to be media blasted or dipped (depending on your flavor) to truly tell what needs to be done. Yes, there are a tons of parts and I was truly surprised by what was there once I had a chance to lay everything out since I didn’t have a place to do it in the past. I’ve included two pictures of the rear frame rails. Please let me know if there are any other areas I can get you pictures of. Ultimately, I could describe the condition of the car until your ears bleed, but the pictures tell the true tail. :-)
