Vehicle Detail
This is a 2001 Acura Integra Type-R. It is Nighthawk Black Pearl. It is one of 3822 ever made, #1038 of 1157 made in 01, and one of 517 ever made in Nighthawk Black Pearl. It has 35000 miles. I am selling the car for my friend Bobby. Bobby's dad recently landed himself in the hospital and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, forcing the sale of many toys to cover medical bills and the care of his father. The car was purchased for Bobby when he was a teenager, and Bobby drove the car for a few years without complaint. Eventually Bobby decided to give the car back to his dad and buy his own vehicle, something that he would be proud to say he purchased on his own. Rather than sell the car (as Bobby's dad never liked to get rid of anything), he put the car in storage, where it sat until recently. Bobby's not a car guy like me, so he asked me to help him out. I'm an Engineer and a car guy, and an occasional eBay shopper. When Bobby located the car in storage, he had it towed out and taken to a dealer for basic maintenance and a mechanical assessment. There they drained the gas tank and all the other fluids, added fresh fluids and filters, cleaned the air filter (K&N), replaced the battery, installed brand new tires, washed and detailed it, put on the front/back replacement emblems that Bobby provided them (originals had been stolen a long time ago... back when low-life Fast and Furious morons thought stealing emblems was a good way to pass the time), sucked out a few small door dings, and did some minor plastic repair to the undersides of the front and rear bumpers. There were several small scratches on the back of the car, mostly on the hatch lid, from where some MENSA meister broke into the car (circa October 2001) by ripping the back window out with a crowbar and leaving the mess of glass and tint draped over the hatch, scratching it up nicely. Unfortunately, when "touching up" was offered as a means to address these scratches and as an alternative to repainting entire panels, you would think that meant the careful, precise application of the paint to effectively cover up the visible scratches. Low and behold, the touching-up that was done was much less to be desired. Since I've repaired a lot of cars (I'm a corvette guy myself), I offered to polish out the blobs of touch up paint that the dealer sloppily applied, and that's exactly what I did. It took a lot of time, but they are much less noticeable now. You can see the pictures of the end result in this ad. The car isn't perfect, but overall, the car is in excellent condition. It drives exactly as it did in it's earlier 2001 glory. There are some small round stains in the front bumper clear coat due to bird droppings that sat between car washes, there are the couple of scratches that we repaired on the hatch, and there is some very light wear to the driver and passenger seat and driver floor mat. The hatch requires key to open, and the keyless fobs are missing. The cap to the windshield washer reservoir is cracked. I've sold a few cars, and I'm no dummy. I accept two payment methods - Cash bills, or a cashiers check from a major bank. If you pay with cashiers check, I will verify funds AND the car does not leave until the cashiers check clears our bank account. The title is clear. The only owners in the CarFax history will be Bobby and his dad. It's recently been titled and registered into Bobby's name through Power of Attorney. Feel free to send any additional questions. If anyone bidding is able to travel to Phoenix, AZ to see the car and wishes to do so, we would be more than happy to show the car to you. Test drives are fine as well. Obviously, we'll be riding with you for the test drive.
