Vehicle Detail

2001 Corvette C5 Z06 with only 22k miles. Only 2 owners previous to me! Excellent condition, EVERYTHING works, no tears in the seats, all original upholstery, no stains, wear, or damage in the carpet. Has Tigershark front bumper and original paint all around the car. Has a cam - with a real nice lope at idle. Also has Competition double valve springs, Competition pushrods, Halltech Venom air filter / airbridge, 02 style MAF with tune, ported and polished throttle body, long tube headers, aftermarket cats, and an optima red top battery which is about 9 months old (date code 4/14). The top end on the engine is brand new (650 miles on the top end, 21,644 total miles on the car). The engine was rebuilt since it took in water, causing some rust to the valves and cylinder walls, and this is why the car got a salvage title. There was no other water damage to the car. Engine was thoroughly inspected and professionally rebuilt with new OEM and original parts. Car is registered and street legal, with an Arizona title, in my name free and clear, with "salvage restored" brand. If someone wants a beautiful, 500 hp Z06 that looks and drives better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor, at a bargain price, this is it! If anyone bidding is able to travel to Phoenix, AZ to see the car and wishes to do so, I would be more than happy to show the car to you. Test drives are fine as well. Obviously, I'll be riding with you for the test drive. I bought the car on 9/30/14 from Allstate in Houston TX. I inspected the car and the interior showed no signs of getting wet - the carpet and seats looked and smelled like new. I tested the windows, door locks, stereo, mirrors, gauges, headlights, ect. to verify interior had not been water damaged. I inspected the body, undercarriage, suspension, and frame, and saw no evidence of prior accident. I think that the car was driven through a deep puddle and stalled out. The air filter is very low on the corvettes so this is possible. I rebuilt the engine myself (I am a Mechanical Engineer). I registered the car in December so the Carfax now shows myself as the 3rd owner. I tested it for approx. 600 miles without issue. I have restored many corvettes as a hobby, and the electronics outside of the interior are very robust with weather-pack connectors. The only exception is the throttle position sensor can get wet if the engine sucks in water, since that sensor is not sealed (this one did, and so I replaced it, and I also re-greased the gears to the throttle body motor). The other exception is the corvettes have many ground wires which can get loose over time. I inspected all the major fail points when I rebuilt the engine, and I found no issues. Many of the corvettes have intermittent abs light, traction, and "service traction control" messages come up due to poor solder joints in the EBCM or a bad steering sensor - this one DOES NOT. I have replaced the EBCM in this vehicle with one that has good solder joints and will never have an issue. I also put a brand new steering sensor (another common fail point) in the car, so again, this car should never get the intermittent abs light, traction, or "service traction system" issues that you see with many other C5s out there for sale. I have gone through this car with fine tooth comb, and made it mechanically perfect. This is one of the fastest C5's that I've ever owned, and based on my experience with vettes, I can say that it may be over 500hp. It will break the rear tires free in first, second, and third gear. It is MUCH FASTER than my stock 2002 Z06 which is my daily driver. There is absolutely no slop in the steering or suspension. It drives very tight. You can take your hands off the wheel while cruising the freeway, and the car does not drift left or right. It truly drives like a brand new corvette - just a little louder, and a LOT faster. The long tube headers make a little bit of vibration noise at idle which can be slightly annoying - but it is to be expected from a modified car. I accept two payment methods - Cash bills, or a cashiers check from a major bank. If you pay with cashiers check, I will verify funds AND the car does not leave until the cashiers check clears my bank account. Anyways, happy bidding!
