1974 Morgan OUT ISLAND

I bought this morgan 28 out island boat off a marina in van cleave,mississippi.we motored it over 100 miles to a marina in slidell,louisiana.it was missing at the time the boom and sails.the yanmar diesel ran great all the way.i purchased another 1973 morgan 28 in the area to use for parts.it was missing motor and transmission and most of interior has been gutted..the parts morgan had a nice boom on it and a main and jib sail.both sails are in useable condition.we took the bow pulpit off as it was in better condition.it also had a pedestal wheel and all pulleys,brackets,cables,etc.we installed the pedestal,etc on the diesel morgan.sailing 100 miles with a stick rudder about wore us out.in the process of working on the morgan I ended up buying a 45 Columbia in Gulfport,mississippi. not needing 2 sailboats and double dock fees I sold the morgan and its parts twin to my mechanic.long story short he is not able to pay for it due to some financial problems,so I now have it back.the boat is a solid little boat and just needs someone to spend some time and effort on her.i have everything to get her up to par,but I just don't have the time to do it.the parts that need installed are the hot water heater,bow pulpit,fresh water pump,rub rails and the throttle shifter fixed.i have all the parts,but you will need to install.hot water is both electric and engine heated.water lines and electric are intact .the bow pulpit needs the leg inserts installed then bow pulpit secured to the inserts.the fresh water pump needs to be installed.the original pump died,but the water lines are intact and wiring is there.i have 2 new rolls of rub rail which needs to be glued into place.engine runs very well and you can shift it into forward and reverse,but throttle has got to be repaired.paint on upper deck is liveable but could stand sanded and repainted.the bottom was just cleaned in july and the diver said everything was in great condition..there are no soft spots anywhere on deck.solid as a rock..she has never taken on water but there is a automatic bilge pump installed and working.engine blower works.mounted on deck is a garmin fishfinder and an autohelm speedometer.also on deck is a computer monitor which was hooked to a laptop with diginav installed.it worked last year and was really nice with a big navigation screen to guide you.the interior needs help,wood floor over hull is in need of replacement,there are cushons installed but again could use replaced.she has a stainless steel sink in galley and bathroom.pump toilet is installed in head and I believe it is good.she has a forward 20-30 gallon water tank.forward v berth with cushions.2 aft side births,but need cushions.she has a large and small solar cell installed and they keep the 2 batterys fully charged.she has an air conditioner off an rv installed in front hatch and it keeps the boat very comfortable in the heat of a Louisiana summer.all hard lines and rigging are good,but could need some adjusting.boom is an old style roller boom so your main sail can be furled on boom.i have roller furler for jib but it will need to be installed.she comes with an anchor and line.i have put a lot of pics for you to view.any questions and don't hesitate to ask.she is anchored at bonfouca marina in slidell,louisiana.slip # 201.she is kind of hidden by bushes,trees and a large blue and white boat on a trailer.walk behind the boat on trailer and you will see the ramp going up to the dock.her slip rent is $150.00 with small useage of electric and water.if you are going to live on her then you have to pay another $40.00 for full time use of electric.she can be left there if you want to do the work here.it is one of the few marinas in this area that you can work on your own boat.neighbors are great.i have a clear registration and will give you a notorized bill of sale..happy bidding!!! mel """"NOTE""" THIS BOAT IS FOR SALE LOCALLY.IF I GET AN EBAY BID ON IT I WILL REMOVE IT LOCALLY,BUT IF I GET A SALE LOCALLY THEN I WILL REMOVE IT FROM EBAY.
