This auction is for a 1948 Ford F-1 half ton pu short box step side. First year for this body style. If you want patina here it is. Truck has the original flat head 6cyl it was completely rebuilt a few years back. It was the start of a restoration that never materialized. At that time it belonged to an older gentleman who had full intentions of restoring the truck so he started with the running gear and that's as far as he got. This summer we had someone looking at the truck but wanted to hear it run. An outside fuel source was used and the truck fired right up. We actually yard drove the truck with no problem. There are no brakes so we couldn't go far. Mechanically it ran and shifted fine. As you can see by the pics the truck needs a complete restoration but there are many ways you can go with this. You could go for a complete original resto or do the rat rod theme like many are doing now. Just get it driving and stopping, make it safe and use it like it is. I think it has a real cool look. Yes it does have rust holes but is solid around the rusty areas. So patches could be put in place just to sure everything up. The box fenders are solid to the body but it does need a wood floor in the bed. The cab floor in the front needs to be redone but the seat area is solid. The frame on the truck is in great shape. The window in the drivers door is missing but the regulator is still in place. There are plenty of aftermarket sources to fix the truck up or you can do your own thing. Sold on a bill of sale. If you need a title in your state we will register the truck and with a registration and a notarized bill of sale you will get a title in your state.
