Vehicle Detail
For sale is a beautiful factory matching number 1966 Chrysler Newport 4 door sedan with 53,000 Original miles. I am the second owner of the car and I purchased it from the original owner. The original owner owned a Chrysler dealership from 1948-1978 when he retired. He bought the car new on January 22, 1966 for the purpose of using it as a car to go to church on Sunday, the doctors, and the grocery store so that he wouldn't have to use the work truck. Being that this car was not their main transportation, it only traveled 51,000 miles in 48 years. I have since put 2,000 miles on the car since I purchased it. The car has been garage kept and is in very good condition. The engine runs as a 383 should and the transmission(727 Torqueflite) shifts as it should. The car has had a mechanical restoration that included things such as: New Starter, Brakes(Wheel Cylinders, master cylinder, Booster), radiator, tires, plug wires, rotor, and spark plugs, Fuel pump and carburetor(Stromberg 2 Barrel). The car was repainted the original powder blue in 1967, but otherwise it is as it left the factory. The interior is in EXTREMELY good condition and needs nothing. The car still does need a tune up but drives extremely well. The car still needs some wiring work on the headlight wiring and it also needs the fuel gauge sending unit fixed. The car also does not have blinkers which I believe to be part of the headlight wiring. The wiring is all there but needs to be repaired in places. The cars' heater works wonderfully and it also has a functional vintage Mark IV air conditioning unit. Although the car needs a few things done the car would make a great driver for someone who is looking to get into the antique car hobby! I love the car but I have other projects I would like to finish. The car is sold as-is and the buyer is responsible for shipping/transportation of the vehicle. I will send the old parts that I have removed from the car if you would like to rebuild them. The car will also come with a new set of spark plug wires and the original handbook. The car was repainted the original powder blue in 1967, but otherwise it is as it left the factory. The interior is in EXTREMELY good condition and needs nothing. The headliner has not fallen down and does not sag in any places. The drivers seat was also covered in 1967 to prevent any tearing from occurring. The car still does need a tune up but drives extremely well. The car still needs some wiring work on the headlight wiring and it also needs the fuel gauge sending unit fixed. The headlights work fine and so do the high beams, but it would be beneficial to do some small repairs to the wiring.
