Vehicle Detail
PLEASE NOTE: This car is in Atlanta, Georgia. I don't know if I'll be able to change my eBay settings so that they display the proper location. The story on this car:I live in Michigan, as does my dad, who owns the car.A week or so ago, he bought it sight unseen from someone near Atlanta. It was going to be something of a gift to me, as my first car was a Corolla alltrac wagon and I loved it.The gentleman who sold it to my dad was happy to hold onto it for him, after hearing the touching reason that he wanted to make the purchase. He even lowered the price to $900 from $1,000 because the engine had a miss, which he was certain was due to a failing fuel pump.Thinking that a kind gentleman was giving him a good deal, my dad called a close friend who lives in Atlanta, who completed the purchase and had it towed to a Toyota dealership for repair and a full inspection. My dad called the dealership and asked them to go through the car very thoroughly - which they did. They found that it needs a right CV axle, a radiator.... and an engine. The engine in the car has no compression in one of the cylinders. Because of our distance from the car and the potentially high costs of repair -- and of a full diagnosis alone through the dealership -- my father has decided to cut his losses and sell the car now to someone who is prepared to deal with the situation. The good news is that it is a rust free all-trac in overall excellent condition other than the problems listed above. But you'll be able to see that as well as I can from looking at the pictures. Because it was fully inspected upon arrival at the dealership, there should not be any problems except those listed. It does start right up. I haven't seen the car in person and am relying on info from my dad's friend in Atlanta, the dealership and the photos. The car will be located at the dealership until Friday, December 19th. The winning bidder should make every possible effort to pick the car up by then. If you are not able to, please contact me in advance as we'll need to arrange for the car to be transported to the friend's place in Marietta. The dealership's address is: Cherokee Toyota, 301 Liberty Blvd. Canton, Ga. 30114. To the right person, this car will be worth the rebuild. I've never driven a car that handles as well as these on snow or any other bad conditions, gets 32 - 33 mpg consistently, and drives and handles fantastically during everyday driving. As I understand it, they are AWD all the time, and 4WD with a 50/50 front/rear power split when you push the button. This car is also listed locally in Atlanta through a popular free site run by Craig. It will be removed from eBay asap if sold through another venue. You may wish to visit that listing page simply to see more photos of the car. If you did see the car first through eBay, please honor eBay policy and complete the transaction through eBay. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll answer them as best I can. Thanks, and good luck!
