1998 VW Jetta GL - 2.0 4 cylinder - excellent fuel economy - 5 speed Manual transmission - Low miles - ONLY 114K - That's only 6700 Miles per year! - Cold A/C - Power locks and security system We are selling our 1998 Volkswagen Jetta. It has a nice smooth 2.0l 4 cylinder and the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. The clutch is great and commands each gear selection confidently. The shifter linkage is a little tight from the vehicle being parked since May and could use some lubrication. Motor is tight and runs smooth. The exterior shows well for the age of the vehicle. It has normal wear and tear from daily , minor scratches / blister on door etc however no major damage. The rear tires are in good shape and have 50-60% tread remaining, The front tires will need to be replaced soon. Stereo works just fine however unable to test the cassette deck. The interior is clean, comfortable and complete. Seats are supportive and free of excessive wear/stains. A shampoo would really make it shine. No missing interior trim pieces. All lights and signals are working. The front passenger door handles have recently started to not work. We suspect the linkage is loose. All other doors are working excellent. The A/C blows ice cold and the heat blows hot. Power locks work properly on the car. Exterior paint is dark/navy blue in color and has a grey cloth interior. A really nice looking color combo. The exhaust rattles on occasion but not enough to offend the driver. We believe it to be an exhaust hanger. The headliner is clean and in tact. Jetta drives confidently down the road and has many, many years of service left for the next owner. If you have any questions or would like to test drive the car please let me know.
