Vehicle Detail
Please read this description very carefully. I have tried to describe the car as thoroughly as possible. Rust free, California car until 2008, since then stored in a New Jersey garage, used very little since 2008. No rust at all, however there is evidence of previous accident (replacement) left front fender. The inner fender has been cut/trimmed out. (see photos) The left front wheel has a slight negative camber to it. (see photos). Best I can determine, the left front cross member in the area of the shock mount/spring tower has been pushed up about 1/4", based on my measurements of other MGA's. I have performed whatever work necessary to make this a running, driving car before the sale. Drained the fuel tank, flushed the lines, cleaned and tuned the carburetors. Full ignition tune-up, oil and filter change. This is a running, driving car that can be test driven and evaluated. The correct 1622 engine is said to be rebuilt, and I have receipts that support that. The oil pressure is excellent and does not smoke. Everything works electrically, as do all the gauges. The clutch and brakes work but will obviously need attention (leaking master cylinder, old hoses, etc). The paint is not very nice, though in my opinion may come up with an aggressive wet sand and buffing (lots of orange peel). The body is fairly straight, with it's share of blemishes. Side curtains are included and in good shape. Top frame is also included, however the top fabric is shot and will need to be replaced. The front shock absorbers are no good and will need to be replaced. With some further mechanical recommissioning, some wet sanding/buffing this would make an excellent driver. And of course being rust free, an excellent starting point for a restoration. The wood floors are replacements and in excellent shape. Tires are old and will need to be replaced, though they do hold air at this time and as I said, the car can be driven short distances for now.
