Vehicle Detail

Here for auction is my 1939 Chevy Business Coupe. It has a 350 V8 and automatic transmission. The engine and transmission were removed from a 1995 Chevy Pickup and both were rebuilt. The steering column and wheels were also used from the donor truck. The front suspension is donated from a low mileage S-10 Pickup. The car also has AC, PS, PB, and Tilt wheel. The paint was done 3 times to achieve what you see here. There are 2 small scuff spots that need buffing out. One is where the hoods open and lay on the center molding. The other is under the drive rear tail light. Looks like a paint run was sanded out with 2000 grit but never buffed. Both are minor and seem to be an easy fix to me. The camera I use makes the paint look pink but I assure you it is a bright red. The car has no rust on it. Only repaired rust was running boards which were rebuilt and they look excellent. The tires are newer as well. Has a secondary electric fan and heavy duty radiator. The car belonged to my father who did most all of the work you see so far. The interior could be better but I will leave that up to you. There are some cigarette burns in the carpet. The tan head liner and rear seat could be original –not sure. It has all new weather-stripping and most all mechanical locks and hinges are original and seem to work well. The AC is newer but needs charging. It has a power steering leak as well but the Chevy power steering works great, much better than my Fords. It drives very smooth and easy down the road and seems to handle well. Engine runs well but a tune-up could make it smoother. I am not sure what rear end it has but there is no chatter or whine. This is a very nice driver quality car. I would put some work into engine detail and interior. Or you could just drive it as is. The underside has not been detailed yet as my dad built it to drive to car shows and use on weekends. I noticed the front brake was sticking a bit too from sitting the last few months. The car is 75 years old and needs some TLC to be perfect. My father passed earlier this year and I hate to see it sit. This car is too nice and it needs a new home. I have another project that takes all my time. Although I think this car is very solid and nice for its age it is 75 years old and there will be no warranty given. This was my father’s vehicle and I have described to you as much as I know about the car. If you have specific questions please ask. Call me if you need more info, Wayne 225-954-0336. I also have it advertised locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. No international sales-sorry. The reserve is very low for a car like this one. I watched other auctions and set the reserve accordingly. Winning bidder will be required to send a one-thousand dollar deposit due within 48 hours of auctions close. Final payment is due within 7 days of close of auction. Good Luck! On Nov-30-14 at 10:21:18 PST, seller added the following information: Since I have told some what the reserve price is I will let everyone know. Reserve price is $15,000. If you have not bid over 15K before be advised Ebay requires your credit card input. I lost out on a car that way while bidding the last minute. Also I forgot there is one more slight issue with the ignition switch. The is a small rod with a bushing that activates the ignition. The bushing is worn so you have to pull up on the rod running down the steering column at the same time turning the key. Probably a 2 dollar part. Anyone with medium mechanics skills could repair this. Just wanted to mention it. Some have also asked if I drove it home would it make the trip to Ohio or Florida? I think it would be fine but don't take my word for it. It has also been sitting for a few months and is 75 yrs old. This car will be sold AS IS. Be smart and bring a trailer. This is a really cool car and a very cheap cruiser that needs only small item repair to start using immediately and have fun with. Good Luck!
