Vehicle Detail

Take a look at this beautiful 1942 Script Ford GPW, serial number 54626, date of delivery August 1942. This jeep has undergone a frame off rebuild and is perfect for parades, re-inactors, and collectors. This jeep was rescued from obscurity in a garage for 30 years in North Jersey. Since the jeep was manufactured at the time when scripts were being phased out, I decided to use a script body during the rebuild. It underwent a frame off rebuild done by me over the past several months. I have owned over 30 jeeps and have restored about 25 of them, several MB's, GPW's and CJ's have sold successfully on e-Bay. The frame was in good shape but needed some work to get it perfect. It needed new front frame gussets and bumper and some minor repair work throughout. It had the wrong body on it and the previous owner put in a civilian flat head L-head engine. The body and that engine were removed and a professionally rebuilt (Sigafoos Machine Shop in Easton PA) post-war engine was put into this jeep as well as a new reproduction DL Bensinger Body. Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everything has been cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new, NOS, or repro parts. Chassis and Drive Train: All original GPW drive train except the engine. Tranny, transfer case, axles, leaf springs front and rear – original F-marked GPW. New/rebuilt shackles, new shocks, new axle bumpers, frame stripped and sand blasted repaired front frame gussets and bumper. Drive train has new u-joints, new clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing, new seals, bearings, synchro, misc. parts in rebuilt tranny. Tranny and transfer case were drained and cleaned repainted, and all fluids and gaskets replaced, rebuilt band type e-brake new hardware and cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brakes including all lines and hoses, new master cylinder, four new wheel cylinders. Rebuilt steering box and drag link with original steering wheel. NOS bumperettes, original non-F-marked pintle hook. 5 new Firestone 6x16 6 Ply NDT tires on excellent blasted and repainted non-combat rims. Engine: An original post-war engine that was rebuilt by Sigafoos engine rebuilders was put into this jeep. Professionally rebuilt W-O carburetor, new fuel pump, rebuilt manifolds and new gaskets, new 12 volt alternator, new coil, new wiring, new battery, new hoses, new belts, new temp. gauge, new ammeter, new fuel gauge and sender, new fuel lines, new plugs and wires. Professionally repaired radiator and new cap. Body: Bensinger MD Juan GPW body kit – many script F marks throughout; new tub, fenders, grille, windshield including new glass, hood, original driver’s seat and new passenger and rear seat, new fuel tank, new top bows, brackets and hardware, new canvas seats and top (Canvas is Beachwood Canvas), repro. shovel and axe, repro. Oakes style air cleaner, rebuilt authentic blackout lights, rebuilt headlights and tail-lights, repro data plates. Misc: All new modern electric, cloth covered wires, all new gauges, all lights, all new switches work properly. Wiring harness and switches modified to work for regular driving and parades and re-inacting – not for 1940’s war conditions. Vehicle has a valid transferable NJ title in previous owners name. Mileage is not accurate. The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fun driving it and possibly outfit it with some WWII paraphernalia. Vehicle is sold as is where is – no warranty. Shipping costs are responsibility of buyer. Will work with buyer to arrange shipping (i.e drive it to local shipper or Port Newark.) No sales outside the US. Non-refundable deposit via Paypal, balance in cash or Paypal upon pick up or prior to shipping. No checks, no trades, no scams. The "Buy It Now" price is realistic price, the reserve price is very close to that. This Jeep will sell as have all my previous restorations, don't let it slip away.
