1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible - 400/350 hp 4bbl - TH 400 w/ Hurst Dual Gate Shifter. Original Matching Numbers Motor and Trans that have been Rebuilt. This is a Totally RUST FREE California Car that has lived within three miles of its Original Selling Dealer its whole life and still does. To be specific There is no rust in the Quarters, Bottoms of the Front fenders, Doors, Floor Pans, Trunk Pan, Frame, Etc. No Rust Anywhere. This is a very solid GTO Convertible that has had two previous owners besides myself. This is a car that has always been driven and enjoyed. It Rides and Drives Beautifully. The Second Owner bought this GTO in 1971 from the same dealer that sold it originally and it has always lived within three miles of that dealership on the West Side of Los Angeles. This is a very dry part of the Country where there is rarely a wet street let alone any other kind of weather which definitely preserves older cars for daily use. This is a High Option GTO with PHS Documentation. Options include Vari-Ratio Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, A/C, Power Windows, Power Top, Power Antenna, Bucket Seats, Console, Hurst Dual Gate Shifter, Hide Away Headlights, Rally II Wheels, HD Cooling and many more. This car requires minor restoration and a lot has already been done. There is a soft dent in the LF Fender and a some bondo that chipped off on the fender tip. A slight impression on the RR Quarter, The front valance is slightly bent and the Hood is bent in the usual place near the center from improper closure. This is a situation that relates to the engineering of many Full Size and Intermediate Pontiacs as well as Firebirds. If you do not push slightly inward on the hood when closing the hinges lock, this prevents the hoods from closing accidently when working on the car. Its a Pontiac Thing but most people in shops do not know this and hang from the hoods. The Bumpers are in Great Shape. The interior needs Door Panels, Kick Panels, Seat Backs, Covers & Carpet. The Seats are in Good Condition as well as the Padded Dash (has no cracks). The Steering Wheel is Beautiful. The Power Top Mechanicals and Hydraulics work great, this has all been serviced. The Actual Top needs replacement as it has a tear on one side and the rear glass is separating from its mounting surface but it is still very functional. ​Engine work was done by the Famed Valley Head Service in Northridge CA. I say famed because this shop is World known and has catered to some of the top racers in the Country such as Carroll Shelby, Mickey Thompson, Don Pruhdomme, Holman/Moody, Smokey Yunick, Jim Hall, Warren Johnson, George Fulmer, and Fast Jack Beckman. The suspension has been gone through as well and a rear sway bar has been added, with new springs and Koni shocks in the front. This is an Air Shock car from the factory. Fuel Tank has been removed, reconditioned and treated on the inside for corrosion resistance. The Hide Always work but sometimes need just a little help to close, a seal kit will take care of that. When I got the car the AC was working but was starting to need a charge so I disconnected the belt. All Windows work. I have all the vents and the under dash manifold for the AC, its just not shown in the pictures. Also New Power Top and Antenna Switch's are included. The Vacuum Gauge in the photos is not included. Although the car shows Alaska Plates, This car has never been to Alaska. It was registered there for personal reasons. I have clear title in hand. Mileage stated above is what shows on the odometer and may be inaccurate due to limitations of the device. This is a Great GTO, It Runs Great, Drives Great and really wont take much to make it the car of your dreams. Now I know it looks a little down right now but keep in mind that this car has never been abused, It has always been loved and respected. Thank You.
