You are bidding on a gorgeous 1968 Corvette Convertible Numbers Matching 4 Speed with Hardtop. This beauty has been well taken care of over the years and it shows. The paint and body are in great shape I would say a good 5-10 footer it does show some slight wear here and there such as some small touch up chips but nothing to take away from the overall looks. The body is in great shape the only crack I could find is a small spider crack in the hood and I couldn’t even capture it on the Camera I would say the size of a nickel. The front right headlight door could be aligned better as it is not a perfect fit with the nose but both headlights go up and down as they should with the override switch. The bumpers are original and in great shape for their age but most of the other chrome has been replaced including the license plate bezel, the mirror, emblems, etc. The interior is in great shape and is mostly original but some of it has been recently redone with new carpet, new seat covers with new foam, new seat belts, new center console, new gauge cluster bezel, new center console shifter bezel 69 version without the fiber optics, new dash cap, new rear view mirror, new steering wheel and center cap. All the gauges work as they should with the exception of the tach and speedo they both need new cables and the clock is inoperable, but the gas gauge, temp, amp, oil, etc all work as they should along with all the dash lights. The wipers were working before the actuator boot got a tear and was removed and never replaced by the previous owner but everything else appears to be there, but I never drive the car in the rain so it doesn’t bother me. As mentioned before the headlights go up and down as they should using the override on the bottom of the dash. No soft top is in the car but it does have the matching hardtop included painted to match the car the paint is decent on the hardtop. A real nice aftermarket radio was added that has Ipod and USB hookup for listening to some tunes while cruising with the top down. The quarter panel trim panels by the rear compartments need to be replaced it is missing the passenger side and the driver side it messed up as well. Engine compartment is nicely detailed for the car shows, and is a excellent running original numbers matching 327 VIN 405639 Correct HE Suffix 300 Horse 327 mated to the original 4-Speed, the 327 runs like a champ and has plenty of power, I just had it all tuned up with new wires, plugs, cap and rotor it starts with just the bump of a key. New water pump and clutch fan assembly keep this beauty cool even in rush hour traffic. I just installed a new battery as well. Transmission is the original as well and shifts great with no grinding or weird sounds, clutch engages smooth and it goes through all the gears great. Rear is in great shape, no funny sounds or humming, gears I was told is 3:42 so it cruises great on the highways. Most of the suspension and steering were just all replaced including all new power steering assembly, new bushings, and new ball joints, so this bette handles and steers very well. All the brakes work as they should and stop great for being manual brakes. Underneath is super solid no rust except the normal surface rust on the frame, it was always stored inside and has never been up north, I have the original spare tire holder in great shape and it is included with the auction. The tires are brand new on the original Corvette Rallys and help this gem ride nicely down the highways. Car comes with a bunch of extra parts including the original spare tire holder, the hardtop painted to match the car, original radio, extra ball joints, original bezels for the gauges and center console, and a few other odds and ends. Overall I would say this is a nice 1968 Corvette Convertible that you can get in and cruise around town and take to some cruise ins and show it off. It will give many years of trouble free fun and always go up in value as it is a matching numbers solid Corvette which are getting extremely hard to find, and it is an original 4-speed car as well.
