Vehicle's History: This car was manufactured at the Jaguar Cars Ltd. plant at Browns Lane in Coventry, England in March of 1994. It was then shipped to Hampton Jaguar in Columbia, South Carolina, who sold it on October 4th, 1994. Since then it has been scrupulously maintained. It is in exceptional condition for a 17 year old car. My son in law is a certified mechanic and inspected and drove it before I bought it. The odometer was at 85,945 miles. It’s been driven less than 5,000 miles since. I researched it with each service department where it had been serviced. It has had each of the mileage services recommended by Jaguar, done by Jaguar Certified Mechanics. The most recent was a front wheel alignment and full tune up. The most recent service was the 80,000 mile and was done at 85, 510. I have the original manuals; the Jaguar Passport to Service booklet with dealer stamps and mileage notations for maintenance and the phone numbers of the service departments. Liens: There are NO "possible liens" on this car. It is currently titled and registered in Missouri and before that it was titled and registered in North Carolina. The North Carolina and Missouri titles are free of liens. Ownership: The car has had only 3 private owners. including myself, and not the "possible" 5 that Autofax noted. The dealership used it as a dealership car/demo until they sold it on November 10th, 1994 to it's First Owner. The Second Owner - whom I bought it from bought it from told me she purchased it from that original owner on 5-10-99 - She put it in her sons name on 4-06-05. She did not sell it to him and continued to keep it as her vehicle. I understood it was done for tax purposes. It was driven less than 25,000 miles over the 9 years she owned it. It was put back in her name on 7-30-07 to sell it. I am the Third Owner - I bought the car from her on 8-18-2007 and registered it in North Carolina and registered it in Missouri on 11-16 -2009. I have homes in both states. I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge and as accurately as I can…It is an “AS IS” vehicle with No Warranties - implied or otherwise. Production History: The XJS AJ6 4.0 liter V6 Convertible was only produced from 1993 to 1996. The total production was 10,900 vehicles – 2,730 a year. Of those convertibles produced it is estimated that 70% were made for the North American market , or a total of 7,630 vehicles. Of those the Black on Black (black paint and black leather) combination, around 1,500 were produced for the North American Market. Black on Blacks that are still on the road in North America after 17 years are estimated at less than 400. Those in the hands of serious Jaguar buffs, still in good cosmetic and mechanical condition are estimated between 50 and 100. This is one of them.
