Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1961 Studebaker Lark Deluxe 4-Door Sedan. The car originally came from Auburn CA. and spent most of its life in Yreka. I bought it about 8 years ago and hauled it over to Klamath Falls, OR (where I lived at the time) and kept it in a garage. I slowly started to bring the car back to life, and eventually ended up moving to Yreka to find work. The car is about 4 miles away from where it originally was bought. The carpet was install about 5 years ago as well as the headliner, the interior is not original but suitable for daily driving. The floor is solid with the exception of the driver’s side in which a section was cut out and a metal plate was welded there. The hood also has two small holes where a hood ornament was located. There is also a dent in the rear end on the drivers side (see picture). The winning bid will receive a brand new rear end panel to replace the damaged one. All of the floor and ceiling was coated with POR-15 before interior was installed. The trunk has also had POR-15 applied to it. The car has a 112 HP 170 cu. In. 6 cylinder with a two speed automatic transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly when driving, I have rebuilt the carburetor, starter, generator and fuel pump on the car. The vehicle also has a electric fuel pump that is powered by a switch under the dashboard for priming. The cardboard rear sill plate was also replaced recently. The car comes equipped with a somewhat rare remote oil filter kit and also a windshield washer kit with a foot pump to actuate the water to the windshield. The car is also equipped with the reverse/backup lights and clock. This car also has a relatively rare split front seat option. All glass is present with no damage. Some of the weather stripping was replaced. Additional weather stripping rubber will be included. The water pump was installed new about 4 years ago. All of the lights work (brakes, backup, hi-beam, headlights, dash lights etc. All gages except for the fuel gage works, the fuel gage is currently not installed, but a replacement is available online. The clock did work, but has been disconnected due to draining the battery. The radio worked excellent when I had an antenna attached to it about 2 months ago. The antenna has since been sold to fund another project. I have some additional trim pieces which will go with the car that are in boxes in the trunk. The tail light lenses were replaced about 3 months ago. Car sits on correct original silver rims with older white wall tires. The tires hold air but should be replaced before doing some serious driving. This is a nice solid car that needs just a little bit more to get on the road as a daily driver. CA title is cleared, with a DMV no-op to defer registration until the car was ready to hit the road. I am in the process of moving and just don't have the time or the space for this classic anymore. Let me know if you have any questions or need more pictures. I also have a link to show the vehicle running. The car is sold AS IS with NO returns. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Payment is accepted in person or Paypal only. Auction is for US residents only.
