Vehicle Detail
The editors of Consumer Guide stated: "The first fully redesigned Corvette in 15 years was more sophisticated and more practical than the beloved Shark. And like previous generations, the new C4 only got better in time. ...the fourth generation Corvette won its own loyal following as one of the world's most desirable sports cars. The last C4 was produced on June 20, 1996 This is a beautiful car. The custom blue paint really works well. I am selling this for a friend that collects for too many cars so he's running out of room in his garage. This particular car was just featured in a Public Service Announcement for the Independent Film Association of Arizona - It looks that good. We tried to capture all of the angles and details of the car in and out. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. It is also for sale locally here in Tucson. We have the clean title ready to go. This IS YOUR AFFORDABLE Corvette you've wanted all your life. With a reserve price this low you can either buy a used 90's Accord...or own a legend. "First the great stuff. This car has been recently repainted a beautiful custom paint color derived from a 1960's Buick Blue we loved. It was done by Classic Car Restoration company "Olde English Creations" in Tucson, AZ. The mileage is correct with only 76k on the odometer. The seats, dash, floormats, and center console are in great shape. The headlights operate perfectly. Overall it is one of the better examples I've seen for a 30 year old car. It is the first of the C4 Corvettes. The not as good. The headliner is loose in one area (Check the photos) The Passenger visor needs to be replaced (also in a photo) The dash lights work most of the time, but occasionally will go off temporarily. I assume it's a short, but haven't tracked it down. The tires are 10 years old and should be replaced for safety. Lastly the rear deck 'CORVETTE' trim was removed for painting and misplaced. (ALso in photos) - Needs a new radio, the faceplate was stolen years ago." Successful bidder will need to send a $500 deposit for the vehicle and arrange for transportation. Other than the tires being 10 years old I would have no hesitation about driving across a few states, but you can make that call. Air Conditioning works great. (Very important for Tucson, AZ where I am located.) Pickup will be from the body shop that did the custom paint work. If you'd like the tires replaced before pickup we may be able to arrange something. On Nov-01-14 at 23:53:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Of course this is the Targa Top - The C4 Corvette was known for its evolved, sleek and modern look. In a departure from the fiberglass panels of its forebearers, the C4's rear bumpers and panels were made from molding plastics, a sheet molding compound. The C4 coupe was the first general production Corvette to have a glass hatchback (the limited edition 1982 Collectors Edition being the first Corvette equipped with this feature) for better storage access. It also had all new brakes with aluminum calipers. The Corvette C4 came standard with an electronic dashboard with a digital liquid crystal display dash, with graphics for speed and RPM and digital displays for other important engine functions. The C4 represented a clean break from the previous generation of Corvette with a completely new chassis and modern, sleeker styling. The C4 did not use separate body-on-frame construction like its predecessors. Instead, it used what GM termed a "uniframe", which consisted of a traditional perimeter frame, with the door posts, winshield frame, halo, and the rear portion of the floor pan integrated into one welded assembly. This was not a unibody assembly, as none of the exterior body panels were structural members. Due to a styling decision to use a targa top instead of T-tops, there was no structural member tying the windshield frame to the halo as on the C3. On Nov-03-14 at 13:47:06 PST, seller added the following information: Someone else asked a question and I forgot to make it public. It idles very nicely as well as shifts smoothly. We only have one set of keys unfortunately and no owners manual. The light issue on the dash is just the backlight and not the gauges. No leaks or other issues I know about except a slight discoloration on the rear view mirror. On Nov-06-14 at 16:06:18 PST, seller added the following information: The 1984 Corvette was the fastest American production car for 1984 - it wasn't by much but it still received the title. A 4-speed automatic transmission was standard for 1984 and early in the model year the only transmission available. On Nov-09-14 at 00:26:25 PST, seller added the following information: I ran one more VIN Checking Service from VIN Pro Vehicle Identification Number: 1G1AY0788E5111259 Print Date: 11/9/2014 Vehicle Specifications Junk / Salvage / Total Loss 7800 insurance, junk and salvage companies were checked.
