This is the rare model 8701 one year only Jeepster Convertible with the continental rear bumper. The status of this 4wd Jeepster when I purchased it in 2010: The rust free Jeepster had been disassembled in 1996, painted and a rebuilt 3.8 liter GM even fire V-6 mounted. The still disassembled truck was then put into storage for 14 years. This restoration project has taken me 3 years to complete. The following new parts have been installed: Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor. Radiator. Alternator. Heater core. "Painless" wiring harness. Front disc brake conversion. Power brake booster, master cylinder, all brake lines. Rear brakes and wheel cylinders. All body support bushings and suspension bushings. Springs and shackles. Fuel tank, filler and vent hoses, lines and pump. All wheel bearings and seals. All gaskets. Shocks. Tires. U-joints. "Retro Sound" stereo and speakers. Top and glass rear window. Carpet and upholstery. The GM turbo 400 transmission has been rebuilt. The Dana 20 transfer case and both driveshafts have been rebuilt. The bumpers have been rechromed. The paint is the original "Presidential Red" color. The original Ross manual steering is in excellent condition. The vehicle tracks straight and true at 65 mph with no wondering. Included in the sale is an unrestored under dash air conditioning unit with the correct engine compressor mounting bracket. No warranty express or implied.
