Vehicle Detail
I am selling my cherished 1966 Volvo 122s. It has the upgraded B18 engine. I have owned the car for five years. I am the third owner of the car. The second owner was a car enthusiast who only had the car for 8 months. He spent his time swapping out engines to the B18 from its original B16. The original owner and his son both owned these cars and spent all of their days together driving and working on them until he passed away. I will try and give as much information as possible on the condition of the car. Starting with the interior. I just finished redoing the interior. I removed everything and soundproofed/ heatproofed the car with materials from Eastwood. I then put in new carpeting. I installed a new dashboard. New headliner. Installed modern 3 point seatbelts all around. I put headrests in the front seats. I gold leafed the instrument cluster and shifter knob. Put in a new radio (not hooked up/ all original equipment that came with the radio will come with the car.) I had the original seats repaired where needed when I got the car. I put seat covers on everything because I like the look and do not like the heat in the summer from the original seats. There is a rip on the back of the drivers side seat under the seat cover. The door sills were professionally polished. And I added a cup holder in between the front seats. I think that is everything. Onto the rest. ALL and I mean ALL of the rubber was replaced with new. Every door, window, headlight and front and rear windshield. I had the car repainted 1.5 years ago in the original Volvo #46 red paint. All of the stainless steel trim on the outside of the car was professionally polished. The underside of the car is rust free with all of the undercoating still there. A 2" hole on drivers side floor was repaired. A small hole in the rear of each of the rear wheel wells was repaired. There is absolutely no drips under the car that I have ever seen. The wheels have the polished beauty rims. I installed a new IPD ungraded exhaust header. New tailpipe and muffler. New Weber manual choke carb. New heatproofing on the hood of the car. The car comes with a full size almost new spare tire. (needs to be mounted) The car has been stored inside since I have owned it. The overall condition of the car is wonderful. I do not know if it is a show car. I have never been a car show guy and honestly do not know what that means. The body of the car does have some "ripples" in the sheet metal. Mainly on the doors. I do not think any of the pictures show it. The bumpers vary in their condition. The front bumper is maybe an 8/10 with some fading in the chrome here and there. The rear bumper corners are in very good shape with the main trouble spot being the rear center bumper. Down to the nickel. The car has never let me down or given me trouble. I just installed many of the upgrades this summer and have not even had time to really drive the car since. I am selling the car I swore I would never sell because I just purchased a business and have not had the time to even drive my fully finished car. (Fully finished to me.) If the sale price goes above $5,000.00 I will give the wining bidder 4 brand new speakers, a brand new upgraded brake light switch (makes brake lights go on like a modern car, right when you touch the brakes), a new push button start switch (to avoid braking those weak keys), a new Petronix ignition and new IPD high performance spark plug wires. All this is worth $350.00! The rules are $500.00 nonrefundable deposit 24 hours after wining bid. Full payment within 7 days. In cash. You can totally drive the car home if you want but, I like most would suggest trailering until you check it out for yourself. I will work with you on shipping if need be. I have tried to give you all of the information I know about the car. It is an antique and should be respected and understood as such. Any and all questions before bidding. Will be for sale locally in Boyertown PA. Have the right to end auction early if sold locally. Thank You
