This is a cute 2001 Volkswagen New Beetle GLS in a cheerful yellow shade. It’s an automatic. It has a reliable 1.8T engine that runs really smoothly, and the car handles extremely well. It is exciting to drive with the 150 horsepower/turbo engine. There is no rust, and it is clean and in good condition. It has lots of amenities: a moonroof that can be either tilted or opened fully, heated seats, power windows and mirrors, a tape player/stereo, etc. Everything works. This car has been very well looked-after. There are no warning lights on the dashboard whatsoever. Since I have owned this car, the following work has been done: the ABS module was repaired recently; new coil packs and new tires were installed about a year ago; rear brake pads were changed last year; and the electric window mechanism on the driver’s side and the alternator have been replaced. At 85,000 miles, the previous owner had these jobs done: timing belt, water pump, timing tensioner, new battery, new brake pads, new brake rotors, cylinder head rebuild (including new valves, valve seals, decking, hot tanked and inspected, new head gasket, new head bolts, intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, thermostat, O-ring, exhaust manifold gasket, fuel injector seals, and cam seals). Dealer-maintenance receipts are available. The oil has been changed obsessively every 3,000 miles with synthetic oil and genuine VW filters only; premium fuel has always been used (for the turbo engine). As with most used cars, there are some flaws; they are cosmetic and do not impact reliability. There is a scuff/scratch on the passenger side of the front bumper from a curb.
