Vehicle Detail
Ok Guys and gals , Let me start off by saying i know i only have zero feedback..I changed my name from earl0788 because of hacks , and i had plenty of positive feedback all 100 percent..Please check it out , hopefully it will make you feel a little better about dealing with me.... This has been a Very hard decision for me to sell this car....At the end of the day i believe i would be doing the car justice by putting it in the hands of someone who will keep it original...I can not bring myself to modify this car...Its all original except the wheels..... I bought this car from the Lady who's family owned it since new , they brought the car to Mass in 1990 from Virginia ..It has sat in their garage since 1990 waiting to be restored..It had the original paint on it when i purchased it..I would have left it but it was just a little too rough to keep....Car still had the 1957 Virginia plate on it and the deal plate holder from Wickline chevrolet in Rocky Mount Virginia , don't see that stuff very often anymore...The ladies husband started working on the car in 1990 but ended up passing away (sadly ), he was paying a local shop to do small repairs on it where he could afford , i purchased the car where it sat and took it home..The lady was really happy that i was going to keep it original ..That was 2 years ago.........We have put a ton into the car since then.. Here's a little about the car... 1957 Chevrolet Belair , 2 door sedan , orig Black w/ matador red interior , 283ci with three speed manual on the column...88500 original miles ....it has a Factory radio delete plate... I decided to do a frame on resto to the car because of the condition it was in , i wanted to keep the car as close to stock as i could.. We stripped the factory paint off the car and it was solid as a rock...Had two small bondo spots on it but once we stripped them , they were just dings that were not fixed correctly so we popped them out and got it as close as we could to minimize filler...We sweated all the lead out of the body to avoid any paint reaction.....Painted the body Dupont single stage black , then wet sanded that and shot 4 coats of Dupont chroma clear over it !! I know clear over single stage ?It works , an old timer taught us that and it works great to give deep paint..We then wet sanded that down to 2000 grit , and buffed it out with 3m perfect it compounds , down to hand glaze.....This car shines !!! The under carriage was all media blasted and then painted with Sem rustshield to protect it for a long time coming...The under side was covered with what appeared to be rust , rot etc but was actually Red clay from down south ..Once we started clearing it away the metal underneath looked great , it preserved the body i would say....The lady i bought i from , said her father used to have the car oiled every year...Explains how all that clay was sticking to the car ...Anyhow , now it looks really nice and straight under there... The interior is all new , from head to toe...We bought a complete interior kit from Ciadella's in the factory style and color...The interior looks like its factory new and smells like it too... There is plastic covering the seats to protect them and keep them looking great until its ready to be driven....Check out the pics of the interior , they don't make cars like these any more..Its a shame really , these old cars had style !!All the metal window reveal moldings and dash were painted matador red and looks amazing!! The engine is the Original one this car came with from the factory!! it has not been changed out..It runs like a watch , you cant hear this motor run....I had it sent out to a local shop because we were so busy at the time and had them go over it...I knew it wouldn't need much because when we brought he car home for the first time , we put some fresh gas in it , put a good battery in it and it started right up like it never missed a beat... Couldn't believe it , the thing sounded better then my escalade.....The shop went over the motor and put new bearings , did head work for modern gas , new freeze plugs , and new gaskets etc......We then painted it chevy orange and did the scripts in silver, looks great......The engine still has all its original stuff under there too , orig 2 barrel carb with glass bowl ,copper lines , orig Generator works great , had to change the coil , new points , new belts , new battery cables , etc....Orig radiator , we polished the brass top of it, looks excellent.. the whole engine bay was detailed too when the motor was out.. The three speed trans shift's perfect , clutch grabs like it supposed too... rear end is the factory too...This car has not been tampered with......... I put a ton of stuff into this car, ad have only driven it about 5 miles just working out bugs etc........I will just try to make a list the best i can..... New Front BumperNew Bumper endsNew rubber bumper bulletsNew Gold grillnew center bar emblem and lensesNew rear bumperNew tail light housings and lensesnew reverse lightsNew windshield new rear windshieldNew front and rear windshield gasketsnew headlightsNew hardware and clips etc..Nos rocker MoldingsNew Carpetnew seat coversnew HeadlinerNew package trayNew dome lightNew floor matsNew door panelsNew arms rests and basesnew wiresNew fuel pumpnew cap and rotornew hoses and beltsnew suspension items (bushing ,tie rod)New brake linesNew wheel cylindersnew chrome door handlesNew gold scripts side panels restored new bearingsNew mufflernew water pumpNew glove boxNew trunk sealNew paint sealsNew dash lenses (turn signals , high low beam , etc) Plus a whole lot more..............................I think you get the idea.... This car is nice , and is all original , obviously there is new stuff but the only thing on this car that is not original is the wheels....I have the original hub caps ...The original fender skirts are in the trunk too, along with the jack and spare....All the windows roll up and down nicely , the doors shut with 1 finger ... There is soo much more i am missing about the car but i'll update as i figure it all out here... Now the BAD !!!!! The side windows need new felts , i ordered them but not here yet , they are your when they get here unless they get here before the car sells then will just put them in.The mirrors are on order too....The front hood bar has some pitting , the grill center bar has some pitting and needs re-chromed , fender trim spear has a ding in it , i tried to get it out but can still see it..The rear bumper center section is for a wagon they sold me wrong one and the right one is on back order , again its yours when it shows.....Otherwise the car it is what it is , a Beautiful 57 chevy !!!!!!You could go around to 99 percent of the show cars out there and pick small things , i'm just honest about mine... These couple little things and this car will be just about mint !!! Of course like any new build it needs to be driven some miles then check everything again etc... This is a dream car !!! I cant believe i put all this work into the car and haven't even driven the dang thing ...Just in the back of my mind its been eating at me , i want a pro street or pro touring car and cant bring myself to cut this car up...Its better it goes to a new home...Car is Beautiful !!!! sold as-is , no warranties expressed or implied in any way...Please make sure you are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle (before you bid) , you are not bidding on a chance to come look and decide if you want it or not...Your are bidding to buy for the auction price..I have tried to be as honest as i can about the condition of the vehicle but i am human and may miss small things , nothing major i assure you....If you would like to come see the car in person i welcome that too , please call or text 413-329- four six 8 8 , before 9pm eastern please...I will help or assist in shipping any way i can from my end but ultimately its up you (the buyer ), to hire someone or find a shipper of your choice if you choose to go that route.. pick up in person is always welcome....
