Vehicle Detail
1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible These classic Eldo's are not seen around town much anymore. It may be time to bring one to your neighborhood. I'm selling this antique for my mother's financial planners brother. He no longer drives it, and knew I sell several cars a year on eBay, so he wanted to see it go to a good home. He's a great guy, so I know this car was well taken care of. I will explain everything I know in this description. 1976 was the last year the classic Eldorado came in a convertible. A chance to own a pretty clean Eldo droptop at "No Reserve" doesn't come around very often. This mammoth is a smooth running land cruiser that starts right up, and brakes very well with four wheel disc brakes. This Cadillac had to be garage kept most of its life to still have the awesome Cadillac hood ornament present and accounted for. Those were typically gone in the first few years! This was also the last year of the 500 cubic inch V8. This is believed to be the original numbers matching engine that happens to be one of the rare fuel injected models. I'm fairly certain this is only one of 1000 made with the Electronic Fuel Injection option. The head lights, bright lights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, and even the license plate light all work well. A nice aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM Cassette stereo is mounted with fours speakers, so you can actually hear music with the top down. This Caddy was always adult driven. It has a rare set of four 2 inch wide whitewalls with good tread, and even a full size spare tire. The original jack, jack stand, and crow bar are also in the trunk on the original vinyl Cadillac trunk mat. This way if there is ever a mishap on the road, you can be back looking complete cruising in minutes. The options include: power steering, power brakes, power top, power windows, power door locks, power trunk, cruise control, tilt, and telescoping wheel. The convertible top will need to be replaced, but still goes up and down. All four power windows go up and down as well. I do believe this could be the original paint, but it looks like all four corner pieces around the bumpers were replaced at some point, because they are in very nice condition, and the paint on them looks shinier than the body. The plastic inserts in front of the rear bumper are missing. Those are available through a wide variety of aftermarket suppliers. Those are relatively inexpensive. The engine runs very smooth, and you can barely hear this Cadillac run. The leather interior is in decent condition only showing minimal wear as evident from the pictures. There is still a Midland CB from back in the day. It turns on, but I haven't attempted to speak with anyone. The rust is very minimal on the body, so this Caddy can be used right away as a daily driver, or the new owner may want to freshen up the body with some new paint. This car is being sold with an open, clean, and clear Illinois title. The Nada Classic Car Price Guide that anyone can look up on-line has the 1976 Eldorado Convertible valued at $24,900 in high condition, which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. $13,800 in average condition, which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a 20-Footer! They have the lowest condition value at $9,800 being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car, but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration. In my opinion this car is in better than what Nada classifies a car as average condition. These Convertible's have consistently shown to escalate in value with each quarter. Whether your parents had one when you were a youth and you would like to recapture that glory or you just want to drive around and enjoy a small bank account while it makes you a very lucrative profit, this may be the classic droptop you've been dreaming of. Everywhere you drive these cars people are attracted to them like a magnet. These cars are getting harder and harder to come across. What you see is exactly what you get! I know my auctions can be a little long winded, but I always try to describe all of the pertinent information, so any potential bidder can make the most informed decision possible before placing their bid. I am a brutally honest person, so if there is anything else you feel I may have missed, please ask me any question you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. This classic Eldorado convertible is being offered at "No Reserve" on a quick 5-day auction ending Sunday evening at 5:00pm Pacific time, 7:00pm Central time, and 8:00pm Eastern time. Thank You for taking the time to view my auction! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!
