up for auction is a 1999 .5 turbo diesel jetta , red ,5spd , needs tlc ,, runs now will need a turbo and or intercooler possibly both ,for door great overall average condition . there was a new radiator and fans installed 1 year ago new control arm bushings on both front a arms . fuel canaster in tank was replaced . BRAKES ARE FAIRLY NEW IN FRONT , CAR DOES START AND IDLE ,,IT SHOULD BE TRAILERED HOME OR TO A GARAGE FOR REPAIR ,SO YOU DONT DO UNNESSARY HARM TO THE ENGINE . speedo stopped working 4 monthes ago ,has approx. 15k more miles on it , needs clutch very soon . needs battery soon . needs a repair of turbo or new intercooler or both ,,small oil leak out of intercooler . it probably needs, at least 700.00 worth of work in maintenance it has manual glow switch installed on it now which works well. On Oct-06-14 at 08:42:49 PDT, seller added the following information: this car does have rust on lower front fenders ,about 3 inch spot on each side ,,both sides were patched already one side is bubled some . car is in average condition for the year ,but I have seen much worse ,,car is very solid ,,no rust anywhere really besides the fender bottoms . car is being sold as is condition, these motors alone sell for 1500.00 used . car can not be driven home ,,it needs to be looked at and gone over and fixed ,,we don't know exactly what is leaking oil ,intercooler is leaking big drips , turbo could be good ,,it might just need some tlc and few minor tweaks from a diesel guy ,,if you know about these cars its a great deal for the right person . On Oct-09-14 at 11:34:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked can it be driven home ,,,it can not ,, there are things needing to be fixed on engine , oil is leaking drips down oil pan , intercooler is leaking oil , it could need additional engine work or a gasket or other misc work ,we don't know what all it needs . guy who towed the car said it might be a bad turbo or something ,, turbo might be bad in it we are not diesel mechanics but it should be completely gone over on engine , clutch needs to be replaced very soon ,its low , car is being sold AS IS CONDITION ,,MEANING NEEDS REPAIR OR TLC AND MOTOR MAINTENANCE . if you have concerns or ?s please ask ,,
