Vehicle Detail
Selling our family ski-mobile. Used sparingly over the past 10 years for trips to Yosemite, Dodge Ridge, Bear Valley, Lake Tahoe - but also a 6,000 mile road trip to the Midwest and a recent move-in run to the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). Runs great around town or on the road. Have noted mileage up to 22 mpg on the road (Diesel, in overdrive, at 2000 rpm runs about 70 mph at nearly 20 mpg). The 7.3l turbo-diesel is a notoriously bullet proof engine - many running over 300k without a hitch. 44 gallon tank. Heavy duty everything - running up hill to Tahoe in the summer with the ice cold AC blasting, still power to pass. We recently (October '13) replaced the entire steering box and components to tighten up the steering; had them check fuel injectors, one was going so replaced; had several "while you're at it" PM things done - flushed and replaced the coolant; new wipers; air cleaner; transmission inspection; and an alignment ($2700). Replaced both batteries within in April '14 ($450). Just put new tires on at 129k (about 2k ago) ($700).Kept clean and serviced - Keys (several) and fobs included; however the outside key pad and unlock (fob) system works intermittently. The carwash took a toll on the hood and top; paint is faded and worn (photos attached). The windshield has a crack in the lower left corner (not in the vision area of the driver). Left front bumper damage, pushed back into fender (family member backing out of the garage without looking...). Right rear wheel well has a nick and a slight bent. PHOTOS of all these included - want more? Just ask. The third-seat is a real asset - we've hauled up to 7 (8 counting the driver) to skiing, soccer, etc. The seat has a quick release that ONE PERSON can operate both to take out or put in. Take out the third seat, put the back seat down and you have a carpeted pick up truck bed - we've hauled a lot of COSTCO stuff in there. Remember - It is a used vehicle. It has some wear but before I take it in to fix all the little things (and jack up the price) I want to give someone the option of buying an excellent Excursion with the (somewhat rare) 7.3l diesel engine and with very low miles! I can help with your shipper (delivery or stand-by for pick up) locally. This truck is also FOR SALE LOCALLY for the BIN price (we also have a trade-in offer of $11,500, but don't want another car). We may delete this auction without notice - only a BIN offer takes precedence. This car scores 81 on the Experian vehicle history scale where most 2001 Excursions are between 40 and 64. YouTube of a COLD START after sitting over 2 weeks and of the engine at idle can be found here: http://youtu.be/0JeWhakmis8 http://youtu.be/kV6562log0E
