For Sale:1984 Mercedes 300GD or Gelandewagen. This vehicle has been very well preserved and has been used as a daily driver for the past several months. Clean and clear Alabama title. It has the famous 5 cylinder 617 N/A diesel engine, 4 speed automatic transmission and 5-door long wheel base model 300GD. Odometer reads 71,000 KM. This is a European VIN and ebay does not recognize. It is VIN#46033317901136 (attached VIN tag). There have been no real issues for me with this G. It is a marvel of German engineering and runs like a top. The G is still built by hand as it has been for over 35 years. Parts are not difficult to find and being so well-built and mechanically sound - it is very easy to work on as well. Many parts are the exact same as 2014 G-class (and the exterior is remarkably similar)! This is an absolute tank and will take you anywhere you want to go. Wherever that may be, you are sure to get looks and universal approval in a G-wagon. Recent work (2014):- New brakes (new front discs, pads, rebuilt calipers, brake lines, master cylinder, etc. - brand new rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, lines, etc.)- New 31X10.5X15 toyo all terrains in March 2014- Belts, fluids and filters changed (oil, air filter, power steering, etc...)- New locking fuel cap- A few small items and parts sourced to make the G as close to stock as possible- I have diamond plate running boards Linex coated black and need to put those back on as well (not in photos)- JBL audio upgrade (2 5 1/4" and 2 6X9") and new dash unit- I also have a pair of genuine Mercedes, black leather jump seats that I have not installed. These are very hard to find and valuable "The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagen (as it called in some areas), short for Geländewagen (or cross-country vehicle), is a four-wheel drive full-size luxury SUV produced by Steyr-Puch (now Magna Steyr) in Austria and manufacturing by Mercedes-Benz. The G-wagen is characterized by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz in Daimler's history, with a span of 35 years. Only the Unimog beats it.The G-class was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran (at the time a significant Mercedes shareholder) to Mercedes and offered as a civilian version in 1979. In this role it is sometimes referred to as the "Wolf" and LAPV Enok." Vehicle is in good condition and I welcome inspections.
