Vehicle Detail

This car is in great shape and runs great. Very fun drive. The car is a beauty and gets tons of attention. The engine is an 8 cylinder 302 cu in. It's an automatic. Mechanically it runs very well and cosmetically I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10 (I'm being very conservative). Others would probably rate it higher but I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised vs. disappointed. You would need to do nothing on this Mustang except enjoy it. It has 97,835 miles. Few things to note from the pictures. In one picture the driver's seat has a patch on it. That has since been professionally repaired and the seat is now perfect. Also, the rugs are in very good condition and not dirty or stained. Those are pieces of leaves since it was an early fall day. Didn't notice until I reviewed the photos. I know buying a vintage car may be intimidating, but I can honestly say this car runs very well and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I had to list the title as clean (had to select a value to list) but I don't have a Certificate of Title. Maine does not title vehicles, model year 1994 and older, because they are statutorily exempt. They told me that other states know Maine's title requirements. The registration document is the ownership document. They stated that if I sell the vehicle to a person in another state, the documents I have should be sufficient. I do have all the documentation to support that I am the owner including a bill of Sale and Odometer Disclosure Statement along with a Registration Certificate from the State of Vermont (where I purchased the vehicle from) and Maine registrations for the last 4 years. I also have all the historical documentation on this car. Repairs, appraisals, etc. The last appraisal was completed in 2006 and at that time it was appraised at $14,000.00. I've never had issues registering the Mustang. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions. As you can see my Ebay Feedback is 100% and I value that rating. So I feel confident with selling this Mustang on Ebay. Updates 10/3/2014: thought I'd provide the following additional info based on questions I've received.Condition/Issues: I thought of any issues worth noting and they are: 1. Rust: no significant rust that I can see. Worse place is in the trunk but that's not bad. It's only a bit of surface rust under the mat but not a real issue. I added a pic. Floors look very good from what I can see. Paint still shines. When I bought the car 4 years ago my mechanic went through it and I spent $2000 for new brake lines and master cylinder. I didn't like how the brakes were working. He also had his welder address any issues with the undercarriage. The car is very solid. 2. Leaks: Very very minor. I leave a cardboard under the car just to check for leaks. I've had the same cardboard for years and only minor. My mechanic said it's not an issue given the age of the car. I've never had to add oil or brake fluid.3. Scratches/dents: no dents and no real scratches. I'd say more normal hairline swirl marks normal to any car. Not visible unless looking extremely close. A few minor blemishes here and there. Again, nothing visibly noticeable without really looking close. The only place I really noticed any pitting at all is the outside car handle but it's minor and does not distract from the car at all. I will add pictures of the worse blemishes and they may look worse on the pic because they are closeups. But it is a 1971 and does have little blemishes here and there. It's not perfect. These are the reasons I rated it 8.5 out of 10.4. One lose chrome trim. It is on a clip that sometimes moves a little and I have to adjust it.5. Sometimes when starting the car I have to make sure the shifter is pushed forward all the way in Park. Sometimes it slips back a little and doesn't connect. All I have to do is push the shifter stick forward to make sure it connects. The car starts every time. I've never had a problem with it starting and it has never stalled on me while driving. It runs very well. Again my mechanic said it's not worth spending money to fix the shifter but it can be adjusted if necessary. Never bothered me. Keep in mind that it is a 1971 and if the car has been sitting you have to pump the gas sometimes before starting. Those of you old enough remember how that works!!! Reason why I'm selling: I purchased a new Jeep and would like to store it in my garage. I'm also not using the Mustang as much. I don't need the money because I already bought the Jeep. I know fall is not the best time to sell a convertible. If I don't get my price than I'll hold onto the Mustang until spring which at that time I will probably ask for more money because everyone is looking for a convertible in the spring..right? I only listed the Mustang for sale last weekend so no real rush. Rock Bottom Price: $10,000. That's what I paid 4 years ago and initially put in $2000. It was appraised at $14,000 in 2006, $12,000 in 2001 and $10,200 in 1994 and the condition is the same if not improved with the work I initially put into it. The value increases over time. I know the car is worth more money and it will all depend on how quickly I want to sell it and how eager you are to buy!I hope this info is helpful. Thanks for taking a look at my Mustang. I do have a minimum offer set at $9000 to allow someone to make a lower offer for my consideration. I have received offers for that amount early in the auction but I'm trying to hold out for $10,000 and I believe that to be a very fair price considering the condition of the car and what I've seen others sell for. I originally wanted $11,500. I hope you all appreciate my honesty with the price. I don't like auctions where they set a reserve at a low amount making the buyer think they can get the car dirt cheap only to find out the real price is much higher. For those that have offered me $9000, please don't lose the chance to own a beautiful car for $1000. I do appreciate all offers. Just wish you could all see the car in person!
